Used it for a late April/early May trip to Halifax. I found myself either using the outer layer alone (as a wind breaker or rain jacket) or both layers, but haven't used the inner layer alone yet. The hood was necessary. It surely isn't a winter coat, rather a spring jacket. I don't think it could hold up in anything below -10 °C. It's not awkward fitting or ridiculously chunky. I'm able to unzip and rezip with ease. It was on sale.
