Good, but lid is impossible to clean

The bottle itself is good. easy to sip from it with one hand. Perfect for morning coffee while reading news. The only problem: it has a "flex sip" lid on it, and the lid is impossible to clean. I have the same problem as in another review by Angela: black gunk builds up in the layers of the lid and occasionally falls out into the drink or clogs the siping hole. (I put milk in my coffee, and I think that adds to the gunk also). This is not a manufacturing error -- this is a serious design FLAW!

I have no idea how my product is because Canada Post lost it and I haven’t seen it in three weeks. Besides that it’s probably wonderful. I just need to have it in my hand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Specifications by Hydro Flask say it keeps hot drinks hot for 12 hours. It does not even come close, more like 2-3 hours. Very disappointed with this flask. My old flask by another brand definitely kept hot drinks hot for up to 12 hours. Even more surprising is that this is a brand-new flask that I received from Hydro Flask to replace my old 20 oz Hydro Flask.

Stay Away from This Lid

I am extremely disappointed with this Hydro Flask lid design.
I've owned this bottle for only a couple of months and have used it approximately 10 times. Recently, I noticed black residue around the mouthpiece area when I went to take a drink. That immediately raised concerns, so I decided to inspect the lid more closely.
When I removed the silicone gasket, I was shocked to find a large amount of black buildup trapped underneath. The contamination was completely hidden during normal use and routine washing. The amount of buildup I found after such limited use is unacceptable for a product marketed as a premium water bottle.
What concerns me most is that I first discovered the issue because black residue had already made its way to the area where I place my mouth to drink. Who knows how long I’d been drinking without knowing what was accumulating inside the lid.
Even after extensive cleaning and scrubbing, the gasket remains stained and difficult to clean completely. A water bottle lid should not trap moisture and debris in hidden areas so easily, especially after only a handful of uses.
Hydro Flask needs to redesign this lid or provide much clearer cleaning instructions. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this lid design.
