Great Everyday Shoe

I love this shoe as an everyday shoe, and some light running. I don't think it has enough cushion for a daily trainer unless you are looking for something on the more minimal side. However the cushion level to me is perfect for being on my feet all day, and the wide toe box and low drop just makes my foot even more comfortable while on my feet all day

Comfiest running shoe I've had

This is my first pair of Altra's and I am SOLD! I've used low drop shoes for years and when I found out that Altra came out with a low drop option, I was all in. I have had issues with blowing out the sides of other shoes because of them being too narrow, but that is no longer an issue with these. The cushioning soft, but not too soft, and is amazing making me feel like I could run forever!

Fit is different than i am used to

I found a pair of the flow 2’s on sale at a local retailer and bought them on a whim. I’ve got about 75 miles on them now and I’ve been disappointed with the foot shape. They feel much narrower in the midfoot and ball of foot compared to other models. If am not running on perfectly flat ground, I feel my feet pressing into the upper fabric and trying to roll off the sole. Disappointed in the stray from consistent feel and concerned about longevity of the build.

The first experience flow model was fantastic and one of the best shoes I’ve run on in a while. The updates to this are a huge let down. I barely got 100 miles in before they flattened out and now they hurt.

Great Quality, super comfort but wearing out fast

I have a little over 60 miles on my new pair of Experience flow 2. Love the shoes so far and they have tremendously helped my running without getting shin splints. The roomy toe box and plush but secure upper is amazing. I am training for a half marathon and as my miles are ramping up I am seeing significant mid sole wear due to the soft foam. The outsole is also wearing more quickly than i expected. It Looks like the flow 3 has been re designed to correct this issue with some additional tread placement. I will certainly buy the flow 3 but I am a little disappointed with the milage I will get out of the flow 2. If you are on the fence, this is absolutely a great shoe just spend the extra and get the new flow 3.

Altra offering a shoe in a 4mm drop opened up their brand to me. I’m glad I’ve found this shoe as I’ve been wanting to move towards lower drop running shoes. This shoe has a nice and comfortable feel while running.

Manufacturing Defect - Haven't Run In Them Yet

I’ve been an Altra fan for about 10 years and haven’t purchased another running shoe brand since I first tried them. Over that time, I’ve bought dozens of pairs of both road and trail shoes, and they’ve consistently been my go-to.
Unfortunately, in recent years I’ve noticed a decline in quality. The upper fabric on my last two pairs began ripping after only moderate use—something I had never experienced with Altra before. After these issues, I was hesitant to buy another pair, but after a decade of loyalty, I decided to give them one more chance.
I recently purchased the Men's Experience Flow 2, but it arrived with a manufacturing defect in the insole. As a result, I haven’t even been able to use them yet, so I can’t comment on their performance. I’ve submitted a warranty claim and am hopeful the issue will be resolved.
That said, this feels like another sign that the consistency and quality that once defined the brand may be slipping. I’ve now had issues with three consecutive pairs after nearly 10 years without a single problem. At this point, it may be time to explore other options—I’ve heard Topo could be a solid alternative.

i was looking for a shoe for rucking and outdoor workouts. These have exceeded my expectations. I initially was going to use these for shorter ruck (4 - 8 miles). But have found them to be comfortable enough to wear for longer rucks (10 - 15 miles). I also use these for heavy carry workouts and short runs. They do it all. I'm going to order another pair just to have available when these are no longer sold.
