Fantastic fit mid manufacturing

Summary: Great fitting shoe I'll 100% be getting again. Seems like it will wear out fast if used moderately or heavily, get some shoe goo and you'll go far.
Pros
- Amazing fit for my flat wide feet that have practically no arch
- Grip on slick rocky surfaces is solid on the trail
- Perfect amount of cushioning if you're on your feet all day.
Cons
- Had to glue down the material peeling on top after only two days of wear.
Fit
- I went half a size down and wide to get the best fit for my feet. 12 -> 11.5 wide. This still left enough room at the toe, ~1/2", for those downhills.

Lone Peaks get worse with every iteration

Do you love having a dirt and rock scoop on the back of your heel that constantly flings debris into your shoes as you hike? Then these are for you. I have worn Lone Peaks since the 3.5s and have gone through about 20 pairs. The 9s have convinced me to never buy another pair and seek out another brand instead. I am constantly emptying my shoes when I never had to with previous interations. If they remove the scoop on the heels, I'll consider buying another pair, but this is ridiculous. I miss the good Altras that you used to sell.

The fit is really weird — I wear a 8. 5 Wide in torins, always have been, but had to downsize in LP9 because they’re weirdly long. Even though it’s billed as their widest shoes, these don’t work for my wide feet (esp at the midfoot). I tried different types of lacing but that made the shoe loose in general and i twisted a couple of ankles as a result. Really wished Altra would just go back to making shoes that work for wide feet…

Outstanding Trail Running Shoes!

I am 6’2” with athletic build and I’ve always had issues finding trail runners with a good fit.
I tried the Lone Peak trail runners because I was so happy with the performance of my Altra Escalantes and I am very happy with them!
Fit and toe-box are great. Less cramped feeling in the balls of my feet or excess chaffing from my toes being crammed together.
Tread pattern is great over grass trail, gravel, hard packed dirt, and wet or dry conditions.
Ventilation is superb even with the water proof version of the shoe.
Very satisfied, will buy again.

The Altra Lone Peak is the one shoe that can come in a wide size, and provide a comfy toe box and zero drop. I had surgery on my big toe joint some months back, and this is all I want to wear now. I even purchased the hiking boot version for when I'm hunting/hiking.

Versatile shoe

These shoes have a great design and are very comfortable. Tread seem solid and has good grip in a variety of conditions. They have the famed Altra wide toe box, but do seem to run about 1/2 size large. The upper seems durable, but time will tell.
