My fifth pair. Long lasting, zero drop, great toe protection.

I’ve been buying and recommending this shoe to everyone for several years. It’s the kind of shoe that doesn’t need breaking in. You just put it on and can go miles in them no problem. I use them for a lighter pair of hiking shoes because I can’t stand clunky boots that don’t move with your foot. They have great traction and grip.

I work, run, play, hike, everything in these shoes. I’m a videographer/cinematographer and often times we’re working in a variety of terrain and weather all in the same day. The Lone Peak is lightweight with room for my feet to breath, but still rugged enough to to grip just about anything. If I’m being critical, they’re not my favorite shoe when I’m descending down long rocky routes. The shoe is soften enough that I find my feet slide forward and thr sole isn’t tough like a boot. Otherwise, they’re perfect (for me) and I wear multiple pair of these per week. Thank you Altra.

It's for my son and he loves to wear it for his backpacking trip. It's lightweight comparing to his hiking boots and it gives the big toe box for him.

I am on my fourth or fifth pair of lone peaks over the last several years. They have been amazing shoes, and opened the door to me running pain free. The build quality has always been good, lasting what I would consider an above average amount of time, although I do probably wear them past when most people would advise you to get new running shoes. My only complaint I ever had with them was the soles became dangerously slippery on wet rock, which I am happy to say the vibram soles on the Lone Peak 9+ seem to address. Of course they’re not the most stylish shoes, and your 9 year old might mock you relentlessly, but who cares. They’re comfortable, and I have put hundreds and hundreds of pain free/blister free miles on them.

I really liked the shoe, but the toe box is really wide. Had to return them.

I really like the Lone Peak 9+. I think the vibram sole is an big upgrade for trail running. It just feels more stable when on trail and running on loose terrain. I use mine with a sidas or superfeet insole which adds 2 + mm of drop. I am a mid 60 y. o. runner.
