    Great comfort and durability

My first pair of "serious" running shoes were my Torin 8's that I bought about a year ago. After ~600 miles they're showing their age, and I'm feeling it. But I was delighted to see they're on sale! Looking forward to seeing how they felt fresh out of the box! Speaking of boxes, as I am another duck footed individual, these are excellent for my foot shape. I've run 2 half marathons, and multiple 10K's in these with virtually no blisters.

Avoid at all costs as this years design is terrible. It is a massive step back in quality, comfort, and performance. Within the first mile I was getting soreness on my heels with redness. This will be my 15th pair of Torin shoes and these are nothing like what built this brand. Very disappointed as it feels like bricks on your feet with no response or cushion. I’m not sure how these made it out of quality control. Hopefully Altra wakes up and looks at what made this product great.

    Perfect Shoe for Me

I just bought my first pair of Altra Torrin 8 and I love them. I typically wear Brooks but started developing a bunion, lateral foot and arch pain. I do a lot of walking and jogging. I will continue to wear Brooks for my jogs BUT, Torrin 8 is perfect for my daily work and walks. After the first day my foot pain is gone. I hope to learn to run in a zero drop shoe. I love the toe box and the supported heel.

I’ve worn the Torin since model 3. It’s my go-to favorite. The Torin 8 is the most disappointing shoe I’ve ever gotten. It feels nothing like the other Torins. It is very stiff. It isn’t as wide across the base of the toe and the material doesn’t give. I got sores on both feet after wearing one afternoon just in my house.

I love the fit and feel of this shoe but the durability is awful. I’ve worn them regularly for walking at work, not even running, and they’ve already experiencing significant wear. The fabric covering the heel cup has worn down completely and some of the rubber outsole is starting to peel off. For a walking shoe less than 7 months old, this is very disappointing. I have running shoes from other brands with hundreds of miles of marathon training that have less breakdown.

Not sure why the reviews are as average as they are. These shoes are great, especially for my wide feet (my toes are happy). The zero drop is awesome and it's perfect cushion. No need for that super excessive stuff some other shoes do. Altra has won me over!

I’ve been an Altra loyalist for years, but the Torin 8 is an absolute disaster. They seemed perfectly fine out of the box during short initial checks, but the moment I took them out for my first long run and walk, the flawed design became clear. The new heel counter is unforgivably stiff. The rigid material rubbed straight through my socks, leaving me with massive, bleeding heel blisters. I mistakenly gave them several weeks of patience to break in—something a premium running shoe shouldn't even require—but the stiffness never improved. Now I'm stuck with an expensive pair of shoes I cannot wear without injuring myself. I want to stay loyal to the brand, but if this is the new direction for Altra, I will have to look elsewhere

I love walking. This is a perfect “neutral” shoe for my arthritic left hip and bad right foot. The flexible upper mesh keeps pressure off my Bunyan. I walk pain free. I wish I could purchase a wider width than regular. But after breaking in the shoe pressure on my Bunyan subsides to barely noticeable. I also wear super thin socks and loosely tie right shoe to get more relief around the Bunyan. I plan to keep buying Torin 8 shoes.
