improved but disappointingly narrow

the foam feels faster than torin 8, but it feels like each version of the torin just gets narrower and narrower at the midfoot (yes I am getting the wide version). For the torin 8, alternative lacing helped, but harder to do with the new design.

Run Small

These are comfortable, but a little narrow and run small. If you normally order a wide, I would go a half size up. I had to return mine and exchange them for a bigger size. Return was free and stress-free. I wish they made these in a wide in the white. Not nearly as comfortable as their Lone Peaks, but those are going to be hard to match.

These shoes were almost perfect. Great sole and shaped perfect for my foot. But, I could not get the tongue to be comfortable. Anytime I would tighten the laces, the tongue would scrunch up and rub the top of my foot raw. Shame because I liked everything else about them.

Good, Almost Great

I'm overweight (250ish) and have a heavy step. I was constantly getting Achilles pain when I was walking anything over 3 miles. I ordered these and a pair of FWD VIA 2s and my problem was fixed. While I think the FWD VIA 2s are perfect, The Torin 9 is just. . . good. The things I love about this shoe are:
-They are comfortable with the right amount of cushion for me
-The new road vibram lead me to hope and expect that these could be their most durable shoe yet
-There is a lot of actual tread underneath this shoe - which is lacking in most modern shoes
What keeps it from being 5 stars:
-There's something off about the toebox and upper. Plenty of room on the inside of the foot, but outside foot and the vertical space in the upper seems tight. I wish they would have used the original footshape on this model (That being said, there's still more more space in these shoes than 98% of shoes on the market. )
-While I was shopping for an all black shoe, I got lucky because I couldn't have bought any other colors because most of them have an ugly yellow "vibram" in the front of the shoe. (Its a small thing, but it was all I could see when I was checking these out in REI)
All that being said. I am keeping these as my everyday shoe because they are mostly comfortable, I got them at a great price, and I have high hopes that they will be durable.

The toebox completely crunched my feet. These need a lot more room. I can wear escalantes and fwd via, these I could hardly get on.

Drastically smaller than Torin 8 wide

The Torin 9 in a 10 wide is narrower than the previous version. Toe box is cramped and side is pinching my foot. Feel like I'm rolling off the lateral edge of the shoe. Extremely disappointed as the Torin 8 wide have been fantastic work shoes(hospital). Why would you change the sizing?

Uncomfortable

I really wanted to love these but they are just to uncomfortable for me. Although they have good cushioning it is almost like the vibram makes them to stiff. I kept them past the 30 day window hoping they would just break in more but at this point I think I'm just going to give up on them.

Tried these after the provision line was d/c'd. Seem like they will be durable. Run a little snug. Change in style from 8s to 9s brought material higher up the ankles. . . noticing extra pressure and discomfort that is subsiding after being broken in ~50 miles. Excited to get extra miles with the vibram sole!
