Altra Women's Olympus 275 Trail Running Shoes

Unfortunately these did not work for me, but they're a great shoe for the right person. Out of the box: Firm cushioning and noticeable support for pronators (that's me). Snug fit at the heel (just right), and generously roomy toebox (exactly what I need). Shoe felt great as-shipped. Unfortunately within about twenty minutes of wearing them around, my left foot started going numb, so no luck for me, personally. I then experimented with putting my usual orthotics (hard shell, low profile but big arch/midsole support to take weight off the metatarsals) -- in the left foot I removed the stock insole and replaced with orthotic. That, too, was a no-go, because the duplication of arch support created bumps where they didn't belong. So, alas they have to go back. This pains me. Worth the try though. FYI, Soles are a little squeaky on tile. NBD, and since these are clearly decked out as athletic shoes you probably aren't wearing them fancy places, but be mindful of the squeak if you are headed someplace silent.

I bought these because I have a wide foot and as the Altra website states their shoes fit wide. The only wide part of the shoe was the toebox. I couldn’t even get my foot into one of the shoes.

I love these shoes but I ran 23 miles in them and it rained for about an hour and the inserts that came in the shoe started to roll up in them as I was running down and up hills. I've not had them very long maybe alittle over a month. I have loved altra olympus shoes they are my go too for trails. I love the gator that is built into the shoe it worked amazingly while running on trail. My only problem is the insert in the shoe. Ive got my 3 100 mile race in October No Business 100 and I've got alot of water crossing in that race and I don't need a shoe that inserts that roll up after being wet. Please fix the inserts in these shoes.
