Like the shoe okay, HATE the shoelaces

Comfy shoe, but didn’t hold up as expected. As an under pronator, I like how it keeps my foot in a more neutral position. What I didn’t like is the inserts shrinking after a wash (no dryer used), leaving a gap between them and the shoe wall, and I literally hate the very thin, flat shoelaces that constantly come untied. The shoe also isn’t as attractive looking in person as it is online. Because of the toe box, Altra is the one shoe brand that works with my injured feet. I LOVED the Fwd Via, so I’ll probably go back to that with my next purchase.

The Torin 8 works for

The Torin 8 works for me. It has the right amount of cushioning and toe box area is good. But, the Torin 9 does not work. Why change a good thing! I read other reviews and I agree with them on the Torin 9. My foot hurts once I reach 6-8 miles, that does not happen with my Torin 8s. I had to buy a couple of pair of 8s hoping it will last me long enough to fix the 9s. Buy all the 8s you can, before they run out.

My best running gear

Really love these shoes. I needed some thing with good cushion for my long road runs and these are it. I thought I was getting a blister during the first run but nothing formed and never felt that way again. I feel like I don’t have nearly as much pain on the roads anymore, these are really great and I’m happy I finally pulled the trigger on these

Quality and comfort

Got these for work and they far surpass the comfort of the Brooks I tried before, and will likely far surpass the longevity of the Hokas I wore before those, which wore out within two months of waking about 7 miles a day, 5 days a week.
Very comfortable and seem to propel me forward a bit while walking, if that makes sense. Solid laces, as well.
My one complaint is the completely lame color options for the women’s shoes. Unfortunately I can’t buy men’s because I wear a women’s 6. The black ones are good for work, but all of the other options are terrible, so I won’t be getting a pair for use outside of work at this time.

Love zero drop

I absolutely love the Toran 8 zero drop. I had a horrific injury to my foot and leg and this is the only shoe I can wear every day. I have seven pairs. Are you discontinuing this style? I would love to get more. What other styles fit like this torn 8

Not wide and too stiff

I have purchased Altra in the past prior to the change of ownership. I love a zero drop shoe and have tried several brands to include barefoot brands. I tried again with Torin 8 for light running and daily walking. I'm 5'09" 150lbs and athletic. I wanted more cushion than Xero shoes and a wider toe box. Torin is super stiff with the Gortex and no where near a wide toe box. The cushioning was unsatisfactory causing more foot pain as there is no flex in the sole. It was more narrow than Xero. I have a pair of Lems that I LOVE. They just came out with a running shoe and are committed to wide toe boxes. I should have spent the money there. Torins were on sale and I wasted the $$ to try again when I should have stuck with my gut. They suck.
