    Quality and comfort

Got these for work and they far surpass the comfort of the Brooks I tried before, and will likely far surpass the longevity of the Hokas I wore before those, which wore out within two months of waking about 7 miles a day, 5 days a week. Very comfortable and seem to propel me forward a bit while walking, if that makes sense. Solid laces, as well. My one complaint is the completely lame color options for the women’s shoes. Unfortunately I can’t buy men’s because I wear a women’s 6. The black ones are good for work, but all of the other options are terrible, so I won’t be getting a pair for use outside of work at this time.

I absolutely love the Toran 8 zero drop. I had a horrific injury to my foot and leg and this is the only shoe I can wear every day. I have seven pairs. Are you discontinuing this style? I would love to get more. What other styles fit like this torn 8

I have purchased Altra in the past prior to the change of ownership. I love a zero drop shoe and have tried several brands to include barefoot brands. I tried again with Torin 8 for light running and daily walking. I'm 5'09" 150lbs and athletic. I wanted more cushion than Xero shoes and a wider toe box. Torin is super stiff with the Gortex and no where near a wide toe box. The cushioning was unsatisfactory causing more foot pain as there is no flex in the sole. It was more narrow than Xero. I have a pair of Lems that I LOVE. They just came out with a running shoe and are committed to wide toe boxes. I should have spent the money there. Torins were on sale and I wasted the $$ to try again when I should have stuck with my gut. They suck.

I needed shoes that would help with foot fatigue I experienced from the escalates, and these were the answer. I really appreciate the shock absorption of the 30mm foam—this seems to be the perfect stack height for longer runs. I also really like whatever they have on the sides of the shoes, not guardrails, but some foam that seems to help keep my foot secure and help with mild pronation. My only complaint is I wish they had a little more arch support. I tried and returned the torin st’s because the guardrail is so aggressive and completely tilts my entire foot. Would really like if Altra could make a hybrid between these shoes and the guard rail, something similar to topo’s arch support. Mild, but not too aggressive. Also, I loved the width on these shoes. Keep making original and wide width neutral shoes, please!

I have worn Escalantes for years for racewalking as well as my gym shoes and love them. I Decided to switch to Altras for running after my old standby changed their shoe design. The Torin 8 is super comfortable EXCEPT for the heel. I get blisters everytime I wear them. I've changed the way I lace them but nothing helps. I've resorted to putting giant bandaids on my heels before every run. So frustrating. I have never had problems with blisters in my entire running career. I think the heel is just way too stiff and unforgiving.

I’ve been buying Altra Torins since the Torin 3, so I’m very familiar with the shoes and have always appreciated the small design changes from one version to the next. Unfortunately, the latest version has a major issue for me. The mesh used on the upper is also being used on the inside heel area, and it is extremely abrasive. It rubbed my heel raw within about five minutes of wearing them. I’ve never had this problem with previous versions of the Torin, so I’m very disappointed to see this change in the design.

Perfect support yet supple enough to allow my feet to move like they should.
