Of all the things we had on our sports bingo card, a hard time tracking down a good helmet for our teenage son was not one of them. However, that’s the situation we found ourselves in this past year. This was a much-loved birthday present for our hockey-obsessed guy (which we purchased in navy to match team colours). We had to buy a cage separately which we needed to hunt for but we’re very pleased with this helmet. It looks great, too.

The Bauer Re-Akt 85 is a very light helmet but does not have as much padding as the RE-AKT 75 it replaces. It also doesnt score as high as its predecessor on the Virginia Tech rating system. Overall a decent helmet at a good price.

Pretty nice helmet but this is NOT red... it's more orange than red. My kid can't wear it because she has to match her team.... waste of time

Missing Hardwear

This helmet is a good quality helmet but it was missing all the hardwear that is supposed to come with it. We bought the cage separately but there was no domes on the helmet to properly attach the cage when in use. Also the white chinstrap is different I’m not sure why they wouldn’t but a black one to match the rest of the helmet.
