Bauer Vapor HYP2RLITE Senior Catcher

I’ve used this catcher about 10 times so far and I immediately noticed “stingers” when the puck is not caught right in the pocket, so I started using a glove to reduce the impact of pucks hitting my palm and fingers, but still feel some shots. As the catcher continues to break in, I’m sure I’ll feel more shots. The thumb loop; I prefer the rigidity of leather loops over the elasticity of the material used in this catcher. It would likely assist with closing the catcher better instead of having a little give/ movement at the thumb. That said, I must say, I do like the Velcro strapping over the fingers and the back side of the hand for those who like a tight secure fit. There is also another strap closer to the wrist for those who like a more secure fit. Although I like the Velcro straps, I find it somewhat difficult to tighten those straps with the back hand side padding in the way due to how it’s laced or stitched on the pinky finger side. Please note that the catcher is stock but I’d prefer a beefed up finger and palm. Finally, the catcher closes nice and is relatively light.
