The straightforward design of this Black Diamond Astro 300 Headlamp supports seamless use. You can power up this headlamp with AAA Alkaline cells or a BD 1500 Li-ion battery. This Black Diamond headlamp features brightness memory and a digital lock mode to prevent accidental activation for no-fuss use.
Dual-Fuel operates on three AAA alkaline batteries (included) or a rechargeable 1500 Li-ion battery (sold separately)

Better than my wrap around my neck lights, so much easier to use because it doesn’t slid off . . fantastic . . lit up the entire room . . I was shocked at how good it was . . I am a coal miners’ grand-daughter. . now I’m just like my grandpa!

i’m not going on any expeditions or even camping (though that is a possibility one day), so the headlamp is just for walking around the side of the house to put trash in trash cans at night; i need to have hands free, big trash cans and i put nightly trash in bigger trash bag in trash can, so need hands free. And headlamps are just useful for so many lighting needs, really the best solution, for ALL personal lighting needs. Hand held flashlights are kind of inferior. Anyway, this little headlamp is really bright, very easy, very dependable, recharging feature is a bonus, can easily recharge (haven’t needed to yet). So I’d definitely recommend.

Better than lighting source in Dr. office!

I recently traveled to Poland for the holidays and brought along two of these incredible little lights—just in case. (It gets dark there around 3 PM!)
During my visit, I ended up with a small injury that required stitches. When it came time to have them removed, a friend who’s a medical professional used his regular utility light but couldn’t quite see the last suture clearly. I handed him this compact light and said, “Try this!” He was instantly impressed by how well it illuminated the area. I ended up leaving it with him as a thank-you for his help, and he was thrilled.
This is truly a fantastic device—thoughtful design, great performance, and surprisingly handy in unexpected situations. I’ll definitely be ordering another one soon!

Another great head lamp from Black Diamond. Easy to adjust dimming. I like that it flashes/pulses when it's all the way dim or bright so you know to release the button. Great for early morning runs.
