With enough comfort to climb WI5, enough warmth to belay and enough dexterity to tie knots in cold temps, the Black Diamond Punisher is Black Diamond's go-to glove for long days, hard climbing and variable conditions. With 100-gram PrimaLoft Gold insulation on the back of the hand and 190-gram fixed fleece lining, the Punisher is Black Diamond's midweight winter climbing glove. The TPU knuckle patch protects against abrasion and an ice tool specific, pre-curved fit provides a secure grip. Black Diamond's innovative "seamless pinky" construction, where we've removed the seam on the pommel side of the pinky, increases the level of comfort when hanging on yBlack Diamond's tool. A waterproof BD.dry™ insert protects against wet ice while the leather palm patch and suede nose wipe add grip and comfort. The Punisher's Pertex Shield rip-stop shell is durable while the 4-way stretch shell at the fingers make for a dexterous, supple feel while climbing.

Move from mittens

I have used the gloves for snowshoeing in temperature ranges from 5 to 15 degrees and my hands were warm throughout. The snug wrist does I believe lead to a bit of moisture buildup but they dry quickly. Better mobility than the mittens and no loss of comfort.

Getting Reps

Getting reps with these gloves are a pleasure. Fit perfectly out of the box and after several hard days on the axes they are working out well. Great in temp range of 20 + degrees. I look forward to wearing them during a Feb trip Thanks

Best Glove I have owned

These gloves have been my go to for the past few years. I use them mainly for walking the dog and sledding with the kids but I also use them during backcountry snow machining and they provide me with the dexterity I need and my hands stay plenty warm. Will they keep your hand as warm as the absolute mitt? No, but that is not what they are designed for. If you need a glove that has great dexterity, keeps your hands warm and stays dry even after digging a snow machine out of deep snow all day these are the gloves for you. I will be sad when they are discontinued in the future.

Long Lasting Testament to BD

I have, I believe one of the first iterations of this glove from wayyyyy back when. Climbed long WI4/5 with them in mid teens temps plus some shorter mixed routes around Colorado. Loved them for ice climbing because unlike other gloves they weren’t bulky. My hand felt comfortable on my axes and didn’t bounce around like thicker gloves. While I haven’t ice climbed since a stroke 4 years ago these are still my go to for the only thing I’ve got left for the outdoors and that backpacking. Especially in the winter. Snowshoes now as backcountry skiing is lit too. 😩 have some photos but can’t seem to post them.

Great all around gloves

So far these gloves have been great for general use. They have been warm in -5 C or so and I believe they could handle colder. They have been durable through rough use. The large wrist wrap secures them well. I would buy another pair in future.

Excellent Ice Glove

This is my go-to glove for leading ice, really happy with the dexterity and just the right amount of warmth for most days. I actually use them skiing most days in CA, as again, a really great weight of insulation / warmth. Waterproofing has yet to let me down. Recommend!

Black Diamond has always been my go-to for long-lasting ice gloves. My new Punishers are a thoughtfully designed glove with the perfect balance of warmth, dexterity, and capability. Articulated fingers, extra leather where it counts, and a suede nose-wiper pad that is dreamy soft make me all giddy when it's my turn to lead. Well done, BD!
