Black Diamond Pursuit 30 Backpack

Fantastic hiking backpack.... Versatile and the different sizes helped, especially because I have a longer torso.

Have taken this pack through zero degree days to the top of the white mountains in New Hampshire as well as the desert landscape of Zion national park. The versatility of this pack is impressive, huge fan of the fit with the running vest for the chest straps. Loop holes on the back allow for storage of snow shoes while the easily accessible side mesh pockets are great for quick grab items like gloves, a shell, or hydration. Loved this pack so much I bought a 2nd as well as one for my wife in the women's version. Highly recommend for your next pack.

Light, but strong backpack construction. Very practical for fast approach hikes. Totally recommended.

I am a 5’11” 170 lb male and went with the large. The medium could have worked but the pockets on the shoulder straps hit weird and the waist belt was just a pinch too high. The large feels amazing. I’m not sure if the latest model has bigger shoulder strap pockets but the pockets on the model I got are too small for soft flasks, which is disappointing as I was hoping for a hybrid of my running vest with one or two 500ml soft flasks up front. My iPhone 16 barely fits in the shoulder strap zipper pocket but honestly feels like it will stretch it out too much and it just doesn’t feel comfortable. I’ll probably just put snacks and car key in the front pouches. I was a bit worried about the location of the hydration sleep not being inside the main compartment but now having put my Hydrapak 3L bladder in there, I can’t even feel that it’s there. Brilliant design honestly as it doesn’t require me to do that dance of trying to get the bladder in while my pack is full.

great quality and fit. nice design and overall look. the zippered shoulder pockets could have been bigger to fit bigger phones and more. the water flask is a little tight for a 500ml soft flask. my favorite daypack so far.
