Product Details

Thanks to the independently floating trigger wires the Camalot Z4 Climbing Cam doesn’t bend while under tension and retracted, but once placed allows the stem to move, ensuring a placement that stays put and doesn’t walk when pulled directionally. The stem on the larger sizes also utilizes dual twisted cable construction which provides uniform flex in all directions, while single cable construction is implemented on smaller sizes to avoid buckling when pulling hard on the trigger and to reduce trigger profile. Featuring a similar head-width as our old Camalot C3 design, but with 4 lobes that are sandblasted for better holding power, the Z4’s are not only an upgrade, but are also available is smaller sizes—starting from #0, our smallest cam ever made, and ranging to .75, allowing you to dial in the rack, whether you’re gunning for a tips crack in the desert, or going light and fast in the Bugs.

  • RigidFlex stem stays rigid in-hand for easy placement, but flexes once placed to reduce walking

  • Dual twisted cable construction for uniform flex on larger sizes; single cable construction on smaller sizes to avoid buckling and reduce trigger profile

  • Narrow head width for tight placements

    Great cams

These cams are great! The lobes are closer together, side to side, than the c4's and many other camming devices, which allows them to fit into smaller pods and placements.

TBH if I was building out a rack again I'd just get a bunch of these instead of the C4s. Theyre great for horizontals (duh doy) and that rules if you also climb at the Gunks. I'm not going to check but they feel lighter and sit well on a harness. They also hold whips which is the main reason one buys cans.

Super happy with the Z series. For me they are worth the extra bit of money over the C4 series. I would recommend if you are building a double rack to have half(ish) of the rack be the Z4 series because it gives you a bit more flexibility in the placement and sizes.

Gran flexibilidad y fijación. La flexibilidad de la pieza minimiza el desplazamiento dentro de la grieta, ya sea que avance al interior o se salga por el movimiento de la cuerda. El único inconveniente es su reducción de resistencia comparada con el C4.

I love these cams because of their rigid feel while placing them, but how they still flex especially in horizontal crack systems. I haven't had issues with them walking either. Grate purchase and would 100% recommend for anyone trying to grow or start their rack.

These are my favorite cams to bring when just using a single rack. Their flexibility is incredible, but the stiffness when putting them in and taking them out is what makes them better than similar cams from other brands. In the smallest few sizes, it can be hard to pull the triggers all the way to fit them into tight placements, but generally I don't have an issue.

For the 0. 3 - 0. 75 range, these are my go-to. Again an extendable sling would make these ideal.

Differently feel better racking up with a Z4's on me. The . 2 and . 1 have a knack in fitting in places nut can't.
