I'm Pain Free!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm not a runner but I have wide feet with bunions on both. Most EEE shoes aren't wide enough, and I was constantly in pain. The salesman at The Good Feet Store recommended these in EEEE. and I'm no longer in pain.

Great Shoe Reasonably Priced

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been wearing The Beast for several years. I wear a 16 4-E and I weigh 200 lbs.The Beast is supportive and has a wide heel base that is comfortable and easy on the feet and ankles. It laces up well for overall strength and comfort. The shoe fits well and wears well. The tread performs comfortably on a relatively groomed trail and very well on asphalt paths. My only suggestion would be to have more choice in color selection.

Relentlessly Dependable

The Brooks Beast 24 is not a fashionable shoe. It is not light, fast, or exciting. What it is, however, is relentlessly dependable — which, at 45, is exactly the point. This is a shoe built for runners who value stability over swagger. It keeps everything where it should be, politely but firmly discouraging any unnecessary experimentation by ageing knees, ankles, or arches. The ride is solid, controlled, and reassuring, like running in a well-engineered German sedan rather than a sports car. Durability is exceptional. One pair comfortably sees out a full year of jogging without complaint. At that point, the shoes retire with dignity to their second career as mowing shoes, where they continue to perform admirably, now well-trained for uneven ground and poor decisions. I buy a new pair every year without hesitation and cannot recommend them highly enough for anyone whose priorities are comfort, support, and keeping the body intact. They will not make you faster, but they may very well keep you running — and that is a better outcome.

I introduced my son to Brooks shoes several years ago. The style he liked is no longer available, so I chose a similar looking style. Although not a runner, he does walk several miles & he loves this new style Beast GTS 24. He wants me to buy more, in case Brooks decides to discontinue this style. A bit expensive but very good quality.
