Brooks Men's Glycerin 23 Wide Fit Cushioned Running Shoes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Brooks, and these shoes feel amazing overall. Unfortunately, the toe box on the right shoe creased almost immediately and now presses uncomfortably against my big toe. I’ve tried using a blow dryer with socks stuffed inside the shoe and even purchased toe box crease guards, but neither solution has fixed the problem. I’ve experienced the same issue with a pair of Ghosts I purchased a few years ago and initially assumed I had just received a defective pair. Since this appears to be a recurring issue (all over reddit), I really wish Brooks would redesign or reinforce the toe box. It’s difficult to justify the price when the shoes begin breaking down and become uncomfortable after only a few wears.

I normally get the ghost line of shoe and wanted to try something new. I ordered in the same size I normally get plus wide fit but my foot was completely cramped so I returned them. My toes were rubbing against the end of the shoe! I am contemplating trying again but getting a half size larger and instead of just wide getting extra wide.

The cushioning on the Glycerin 23s is outstanding which makes them comfortable for walking or running. The heel lock at the back of the shoe is an effective feature for keeping my feet from coming out. That does make putting the shoes on a little more difficult but the loop at the back eliminates that issue. The toe box seems smaller than on my other Brooks shoes. Perhaps because of the superior cushioning, the shoe has a stability issue, although slightly improved from the 22s, which could be a concern for some when walking on uneven terrain or stairs. The color selection could be improved.

Comfortable. Lots of cushion and I like the look. however, I have the tendency to supinate and this shoe does not have the stability in the heel that are provided by other models.

I recently bought the Brooks Glycerin 23 in the Wide version and honestly they feel perfect on my feet. As soon as you put them on it feels like the shoe molds perfectly to your foot like nothing I have ever felt before, it just hugs your foot in the most perfect way. The fit is spot on, super comfortable right out of the box with no cramped toes at all. The sole is incredibly soft. You can actually feel those nitrogen infused bubbles working and it seriously feels like you are stepping on individual air cushions every time your foot hits the ground. To be completely honest, compared to another brand I regularly use, these have a little less pop or springy bounce. They are not going to launch you forward. I still need to put more miles in them to see if that lower energy return affects me in any way, but so far everything is absolutely perfect. While they might have less explosive bounce, they definitely lean into pure shock absorption. The cushioning when you land is just amazing.I am definitely keeping these as my go to shoes for daily miles and recovery days. That being said, if Brooks ever makes a Wide version of the Glycerin Max, I would buy it in a heartbeat.
