Nice shoe but not the best shoe for me

My current shoes are Brooks Ghost and they have been a great shoe. I thought I might get away with a cheaper style as these were a wide fit. Unfortunately these ones aren’t as comfortable for me. That’s not to say they aren’t a good shoe - just not a good shoe for me.

I got these on clearance and my expectations weren’t that high as I’ve never worn Launch before. They are a fantastic shoe and I’m now kicking myself for not grabbing a second pair. I love everything about this shoe.

Comfortable for walking

I started by walking long distances in these shoes, and they felt comfortable in the upper and overall suitable for walking. The tongue would slip, and I would get little pebbles in the shoe, occasionally. But when decided to I run 8 km in them they felt weird: oversized a bit and allowing the foot to slip forward, and not secure in the upper. The heel of the shoe would not stay put. I had to tighten the laces to be able to run. Also, they are not as peppy as a previous version of Launch (I guess 5 or 6), which felt peppy, cushioned and more secure for running purposes, and with which I was very happy. Launch 8 feels like a lesser, more average shoe, comparing to those. I would recommend them for walking. I also loved the black colour. You can wear them with anything.
