Great Reservoir

Great water reservoir. I liked the first one so much I bought it again.

Leaks!

No idea where it is leaking from, as I will turn the thing upside down and sideways before putting it in the pack. No water sloshing out. Then I put it in my pack and it’s like Niagara Falls. I put the thing in a garbage bag as I use it every day for work. I’m currently in Hawaii and it’s too much trouble to try and deal with warranty issues until I get back home. The hose has also developed kinks where it attaches to the (fabric) loops on my pack and is delaminating. I keep getting sticky plastic-y stuff all over my arms.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Terrible piece o crap

It leaks. I don’t need to go into more detail cause everyone else already has. Purchasing this is basically throwing money out the window.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Units sucks

I thought it was just mine, until reading all the reviews, I have had several models in the past but this one sucks, leaks from the top, and now just below the where the hose quick connects. (not the connect but the way the female part attaches to reservoir itself)

No, I do not recommend this product.

Terrible decline

I had to replace my reservoir for my lobo so I picked up a new one at my local shop. It’s like they intentionally made it worse. 1) you cannot dry it on its own anymore. The little plastic things to keep it open are gone. 2) it smells terribly bad even after washing with everything you can find on the net, 3) you can no longer easily hang it. Get a bladder from someone else!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Poor quality

Camelbak must make the most poorly designed and manufactured reservoir I have ever purchased! I have a 3L and 1.5L reservoir. The caps and gaskets have broken apart on both after only a few uses. Now it is almost impossible to get a good seal and water always leaks out of the cap. I will never buy another Camelbak product.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Bigger Opening, won't fit previous model Carriers

Finally got around to getting a new Blue Crux Reservoir and a Black Mil Spec Crux Reservoir after seeing them online and at the local sports store. Love the bigger opening fill port, but the larger circumference can cause problems if replacing a Reservoir in an older Omega and even Antidote model pack. The opening that the fill port sits in don't have enough leeway for the Crux opening to even fit in. Even the new handle is too long for those HydroBak and ThermoBak cover flaps to fit over. Good thing the Quicklink connector is the same as the Antidote Reservoir as I can always swap hydration tubes and or add a filter. The larger diameter tube is great, but I prefer to use my Antidote hydration tubes instead. On the Mil Spec Reservoir I bought, it has the same tube size as the Antidote model. I just don't get how all these other people can't figure out how to put the lid/cap on this new version from CamelBak. It's like they have never closed a glass jar with a metal lid or put a nut on the end of a bolt. The thing has threads that tighten one way and loosens the other. If you kust put the cap on and just turn it right away, you could end up cross-threading it and that's where you end up with leaks. The trick is simple and I've done this with the first screw on reservoirs with the blue cap to the Omega black caps and now even with this Crux version. First, set the cap flat on the opening, Then turn it counter-clockwise (left for you simple minded folks) until it clicks, Then turn the cap clockwise (to the right) until it tightens. There, it should be properly sealed now. Found a video from CamelBak on the proper closing of the lid/cap. That one review showing the cap and washer being too big, that isn't a washer, it's the cap retaining ring.

Yes, I recommend this product.

  • How to close the lid properly.

Leaks all the Time!

This is the worst reservoir ever. I cannot get it to close and not leak and then it’s hard to open. Total waste of money. But something else unless you enjoy hiking soaking wet.

No, I do not recommend this product.
