    Great jacket for heavy rain

Great water proofing. Other Columbia jackets seem to be more water resistant when out in heavy rain for long periods. This one kept me dry and comfortable I love the PFG line

Unfortunately - looking to replace a Columbia raincoat. I thought this would a great replacement - with rear flaps as I live in Florida but like to hike other places. I returned the jacket as I thought the vents in the rear could allow rain to get inside the jacket as the vents didn't have as much overlap as I would have expected. I returned the jacket.

Pros: - They had a size Extra-small! Most men's jackets usually do not go to this size but this jacket did. - It's light. Not the most lightweight rain jacket but you can pack it away. - The hood has an adjustable velcro, which allows you to move the hood closer up or to your eye level. Either way, the rain is not going to get into your eyes if it's a downpour. Cons: - The insane cost. - There's not a lot of color choices. - The extra-small is still too long. If they had cut it off 2 inches from the sleeve and the torso, then it would have been perfect. Most guys who would fit into this jacket is around my size - not a tall, small body. - The armpit space is a tight fit. It's not slim fit, but tight enough for me (a 5'2" 130 lbs average size Asian guy). - The inside material of the jacket is not comfortable. It's almost a tacky texture. - The back has an opening, which should have not been so. I understand that they did it so that the jacket can be breathable but it's not realistic. Rain cannot come in but the stitches can easily be torn if it's grabbed the wrong way. I can see that in the long run, it will come undone unless it's taken care of very aggressively. - It's nylon, which is an inexpensive material. For the price, you would expect that a better quality material was used. Overall impression: I still kept this jacket. There's not a lot of extra-small, quality rain jackets for men out there and so I'm settling with this jacket. I recommend this jacket only if you are desperate and are willing to pay the price-gouge amount. Columbia makes one of the best jackets out there so typically you cannot go wrong. I do wish though, that Columbia can take into consideration that the standard size is no longer becoming "the standard." For an extra-small, I wish that the jacket would have been for smaller size men like me.
