Good casual and utility multi occasion pants

I have about a dozen pair of all cotton ROC 5 pocket pants I have purchased over the past couple of years. They have lived up to the durability claims. I have dropped a little weight and needed to reduce the waist size and picked up three pair of ROC 5 pocket cotton poly blend stretch waist pants to give them a try. The cotton poly blend is a smoother material then my all cotton version and is less likely to hold a stain then the all cotton. While the all cotton tends to appear more like working or hiking clothing, the smoother cotton poly blend looks more like pants you can wear as casual dress. The fit of the blend with stretch waist is much better as far as slipping down on the hips. I find myself not having to pull them up as often if at all. They stay put pretty well and I don’t have to cinch down my belt so much making it more of an accessory than a necessity. The blend makes the pants an easy wash and fold garment with little to no wrinkling. Make sure to use cold water wash and low heat drying. I’m 6’ 1” and weigh 215 and these pants fit me quite well and look good with most of my shirts. I wear a lot of Tommy Bahama shirts and they look as good with them as they do my many T-shirts. While typically priced in the medium price range (they aren’t cheap) I still consider them a good value due to their versatility and durability.

As with most Columbia products, these pants are superb. The quality, fit and form are superior. The size runs true. The color choices are excellent. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the front loops are too close together. This complicates tucking in the free end of my belts.

Best travel and everyday pants I have found in a long time. Comfortable, durable, very breathable. Love the stretch. Great for my tour from Mexico City to Oaxaca in warm weather.

Perfect Travel Pants for Style and Comfort

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took these pants on a trip to Europe and wore them multiple days, always over a merino base layer. The lightweight stretch fabric and comfort stretch waistband made them extremely comfortable for long hours of walking and sightseeing. They stayed comfortable all day and never felt restrictive, even after repeated wear.
They fit perfectly into the local European style, looking clean and modern without being overly technical. I never felt underdressed, whether walking around town, visiting museums, or going out to dinner.
The pockets are practical, including a secure one ideal for travel, and everything stayed in place without adding bulk. They held up very well to multiple days of wear and continued to look sharp throughout the trip. Comfortable, functional, and stylish, these are excellent travel and everyday pants that I would definitely buy again and highly recommend.

Tiny zip pocket

Good fit. Pretty nice fabric. But 5 pockets??? The zip pocket is tiny. Enough to hold a credit card but that's about it. The pocket in previous versions of this was larger and could contain, e.g. a passport.
