Light, Waterproof, Breathable Rain Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This rain jacket is thin, lightweight, breathable, fully waterproof, and doesn't cause me to overheat in most weather. The underarm zips are nice for ventilation, the velcro adjustment cuffs are useful, and the XL size fits my athletic build (5'9", 220lbs) well. My main reasons for buying this jacket were the Outdry technology and the inclusion of underarm zips, and they both work very well.
My biggest complaints about this jacket are the lack of back venting, and the shape and adjustments of the hood. The hood and neck length of this jacket are much too large for me, and there aren't enough adjustments to make the hood fit comfortably. The hood has a center drawstring which pulls out, but I'd also like the jacket to include a velcro adjustment tab to pull the hood down and back. Back venting (in addition to the underarm zips) would also make the jacket much more comfortable and breathable in warmer weather.
This is a great rain jacket overall, but a change in the shape and adjustments to the hood, as well as the inclusion of back venting, would make it near perfect.

I wish columbia would use outdry in outdoor research stuff since this columbia coat is cut very generously. I am usually a large and got a large, but it is roomy

Excellent rain shell for humid Miami riding.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This jacket fits great and has been excellent for riding in South Florida rain. I live in Miami, so humidity was one of my biggest concerns, and this shell performs much better than expected. Sweat evaporates quickly, and I do not get that sticky, uncomfortable feeling that some rain gear creates.
The feature set is really well thought out. The Velcro wrist closures are a valuable addition because they let me get a tight seal and help prevent water from working its way in through the sleeves. That matters a lot for me because I ride an electric bike, and small details like that make a real difference in wet conditions.
The rear adjustment on the hood is also excellent. I can wear the hood comfortably under my safety helmet and still get a smooth, secure fit. The pockets do a great job keeping my wallet and phone dry, and overall the jacket has kept me completely dry in the rain.
It is also comfortable and looks great on. It creates a distinct vibe in bad weather without feeling bulky or awkward. I ride my E-Ride Pro SS 3.0 throughout Miami, Miami Beach, North Beach, Bal Harbour, Sunny Isles, Hallandale Beach, Dania Beach, Pompano Beach, Boca Beach, Brickell, South Miami, and beyond, and this shell has been a strong performer.

New Age Outdry

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a Small Black (which is really smoke grey or a really faded black) and it fits me like a glove with enough room to layer a zip up hoodie underneath if needed for warmth. I’m 5”7 32 waist. The new light weight material is pretty cool and is great for cycling, hiking etc. Rain just beads off and there is extra material on the shoulders for backpack rub spots. We shall see how durable it is as the new outdry is really thin and light in comparison to my old outdry titanium rain jacket.
