Diamondback Expresso Hardtail Mountain Bike, 27.5"

My husband and I attempted to buy a mountain bike for my son when sport Check had the Diamondback Espresso on sale. We looked on line and saw that the bike came in 3 sizes. 15, 17, and 19. We needed a size 15 for our growing son, so we called Sport Check to see if they had a size 15. When we called there seemed to be some confusion on Sport Check’s end, because the person on the phone said that they only go by sizes Small, Medium, and Large. We let sport check know that we need a size 15, which they said they had, but then after fighting traffic to get to the store with our son, we asked the person at the bicycle counter to retrieve the bike that we had bought from them online. He brought the bike out, but when my husband took a look at it he could clearly see the bike was bigger than the one that we had ordered. The gentleman then informed him that they don’t have a bike that is smaller. This was tremendously inconvenient and tremendously annoying because we asked by phone with a live person at that store. If they had a size 15 in stock and they told us that they did. At any rate, my husband decided that this problem needed to be escalated to a manager. Dominic Edwards came to our rescue. At first my husband was apprehensive as to whether he would get any satisfaction because Dominic and every other employee down the line faced with misinformation put out by sport Chek via their website and via the information they had available to them on their computers at the store. The information was conflicting because sport Chek has the bikes listed as sizes 15 17 and 19 on the website and small, medium and large in the store for employees to decipher. When the bicycle was scanned, it was listed as a small, but in fact, the bicycle was a size 17, which would translate to as a medium. Dominic having the good sense to conduct an investigation and figure out what happened that caused this also took great stewardship and correcting the problem by offering my husband and my son the 2024 model of the Diamondback Espresso at the sale price which we had paid for online. The actions and decision made by Dominic fell in line with my principles as a human being and as a customer whom has driven across the city to pick up something that otherwise would not have been there if not for Dominic. Sport Chek in my view has fostered a new repeat customer because of his actions I feel comfortable spending my hard earned money and time to come back for any other other sports related items I might need in the future. so kudos to Dominic Edwards for saving the day!! And kudos to Sports for having the wisdom to put such a knowledgable and reasonable person in a position to make important decisions like that.

This bike is very worth the price,very sturdy made and very lightweight

Awesome bike for the price..Now a days, seems if you don’t pay a couple thousand for a bike you’re don’t have quality. Well, all I can say is buy the bike for what you intend to use it for. This bike rides well, shifts and brakes excellent! Handles ruff trails and minor jumps. This is made to take a beaten but of course with limitations. For an overall bike, I give it an the highest possible.

This is a nice bike for the sale price. I've ridden it for maybe 50km mostly on asphalt so can't really speak about its off road performance. Minor adjustments were made to brake cable length and overall feel. Brakes work well, gear changes are smooth, front suspension is good. Overall it is a good bike.
