Does the job, but plates get caught

Would give these 5 stars if not for one issue: the plates sometimes get caught, so you go to pick up your weights at 20lbs and the last plate is somehow caught but not actually picked up. Result? You pick up the weights and immediately drop a 5lb plate on your foot. Not fun. Other than that, they're great.

Horrible customer service!

I can’t rate this purchase because I never received it! After numerous calls I am still no further ahead. Sport Chek has my money and I have yet to get the dumbbell or have my money refunded, which I have asked for three times. I placed my order on December 1st! This was to be a Christmas gift! Without the refund I was not able to purchase another gift! Horrible customer service!! You have lost my business as I will never purchase anything else from Sport Chek!

Not a looker, still a lifter

I used to own the Bowflex adjustable dumbbells, so maybe my standards are too high. Those were convenient and didn’t look like a piece of industrial scrap metal The Evoke dumbbell works. You twist it in the base and the weight changes … cool, no complaints there. Functionally, it does what it’s supposed to do. But if you’re expecting anything even remotely similar to Bowflex, lower those expectations immediately That said, the price was right-ish. If you care more about lifting than looks (and don’t mind owning the ugliest dumbbell in the room), it’ll get the job done
