I bought this during holidays but only used them during summer. Both failed during the hike where the segments join, so the lower part always got stuck in the soil and decoupled from the rest.
There is at least another review from a user reporting the same issue.
SportCheck didnt help as it was outside the return period. Gabel responded to my email saying that I should use glue to put it back together myself. Yes, they did say that.b
Overall, an unreliable product and potentially quite unsafe on the go.

Unreliable and dangerous !

As others found out, these poles are just looks. The quality is not there as under moderate/normal use, the lower segments come detached.
At best, they can be labelled as low quality. At worst, dangerous, depending on they are used.
I took them with me on an 11 day trek and I wish I didn't. They broke in day #3 and I had to tape them with duct tape for the rest of the trip. Knowing what I know now, I would never buy them.
Worse thing, my email to manufacturer went unanswered. SportCheck doesn't help as the item is outside the return period and I am left with a pair of overpriced and underperforming poles.
Ughhhh.

Not enough product information provided at time of purchase/on line. When I did contact Gabel they stated “probably not suitable” for my Nordic Walking activity and sounds like they need special care. Said they would send a booklet -hasn’t arrived

Awesome trekking poles

I've hiked around BC this summer and these Gabel carbon trekking poles have made the hikes easier on the knees. They improve speed going uphill and reduce impact going down.

Stood up to a BIG hike....kinda.

Took these on the North Boundary Trail, 190 kms. They were great with the exception of one of them came apart at a connection point. Looked as if the glue failed, it continued to work for the most part except for when the pole got caught in some mud it would come apart. I will be trying to get a replacement pole through Gabel or Atmosphere. Great product for the price, hopefully with one pole issue is not a common thing to happen and the company warranties the defect.
