Product Details

Set your sights on something greater with the Approach® Z82 laser range finder with GPS. The flag finder locks in with vibrational feedback, and image stabilization makes it easier to find and range the flag, giving you precise distances within 10” of the pin. See full-color 2-D CourseView mapping and Green View overlay on more than 41,000 courses worldwide. Quickly scroll through hazards on the course map with hazard view. Approach Z82 displays wind speed and direction so you can take that into account when approaching your shot. The PlaysLike Distance feature adjusts based on uphill or downhill slope. An external indicator light — which can be turned on and off — lets you and your playing partners know when you’re in tournament mode. Be sure to keep track of your score, and measure shot distances to participate in weekly leaderboards and review your stats.

  • Most accurate laser range finder on the market within 10” of the flag, up to 450 yards

  • Understand the shot’s true distance with the PlaysLike Distance feature, which adjusts uphill or downhill slope

  • Image stabilization makes it easier to find and range the flag for precise distances to the pin; vibrational feedback lets you know when you’ve locked in

  • Full-color 2-D CourseView mapping for more than 42,000 courses worldwide overlaid on the viewfinder

  • The Laser Range Arc feature draws an arc on the 2-D CourseView map at the distance the laser ranged, so you can see everything in play at that distance

  • Hazard view allows you to quickly scroll through each hazard on the map

  • Green View feature displays yardages to the front and back of the green

  • PinPointer feature shows direction to green on blind shots

  • Automatically determines what hole you are playing for course layout and par information

A lot in a small package

Bought this a few weeks ago and was really impressed. I didn't realize when I bought this you was looking at a digital picture when looking through it. At 1st I was unsure if I liked it. But after using it a few rounds I have gotten used to it

Great features with complete hole overview.

I bought this a month ago and loved it. The view finder is fantastic, giving you a full view of the hole with hazards. I highly recommend this range finder for someone who looking for an all in one. With this you will not need your watch or your phone-everything is in the view finder. The display is very high resolution and easy to read. One of the best range finders I used. Unfortunately, it does not pair with my Garmin Watch.

Best rangefinder I’ve ever had, and I’ve had plenty

Great features, bad design and bad standby modes.

Returning the Z82 because of the standby mode. Constantly having to hit button to get it out of standby mode. When it doesn't get out of standby mode, you have to turn it off and power it back on. Loved the features, but what good is it, when you can't get it out of standby mode. Also, the power button on top is a poor design. You sometimes hit the power button instead of the yardage button.

Nice features- poor magnification

It took little to get use to, It is harder to range at distance without using the cart's steering wheel to hold it steady. It would be better if the magnification was higher and some type of image stabilizer. I like the features, just much harder to range and hold the unit still.

Good, but not great for the price

Been using it for awhile now and it offers some great features. To maximize some of the features I guess you have to purchase the garmin connect membership to get green reading on it. For the price, I think it should be offered free for a 12 month trial at least. I would rate it higher, but it sucks not to have magnetic capability which makes the risk of leaving/misplacing it . That's really a shame when cheaper brands have this basic capability. The carrying case isn't user friendly. It kind of reminds me of my canteen cover from when I was in the Army. I think a simple rubber cover (which I bought aftermarket), would have been safice. I still had to buy it to go along with all my other Garmin gadgets (R10, S62, Z82, S80), but this is my honest review.

Wish battery lasted longer. The lens is not very clear. Can’t use to see if ball on green etc. great data info yardage to hazards.

Great standalone, subpar for integration.

The range finder is amazing in most aspects. The frustrating part is its inability to connect with the G82 or an S70. This should be clearly shown for its independence, so I would not buy it for intent of using alongside other Garmin Golf products. I have the app and subscription, but this is a feature that would make it more seamless for my golf experience on the course.
