Definite improvements over the Forerunner 945

This 955 replaced my 945 just over a month ago. There are several distinct improvements. I like the HRV addition and the morning report. The touch screen is a very nice improvement.

Glad to ditch the chest strap in favor of the on board heart monitor. Allows for a lot more metrics to be recorded.

I have had the Forerunner 955 for about a month now and I appreciate the simplicity of the watch. Yes, it connects to your phone and has notifications but it's not like wearing your phone on your wrist. The fitness tracking is very accurate and easy to use with a long lasting battery life - I have only had to charge it once so far. I like to see the stats after each workout. The watch is able to get wet and be showered with easily.

I got my forerunner 955 because i started running this year and i had an apple watch for the past 7 years and i needed to upgrade. Friends told me to get a Coros but i always wanted a GARMIN and 2 weeks before running my 1st half marathon i decided to get my 1st Garmin ever and im in love with it.

Such a great switch. Battery? EXCELLENT! Metrics for working out? OUTSTANDING! loved getting the “smart” off my wrist and getting the SMART workout features. Love it. Golf is also a great plus.

Such a great watch. Garmin did it again with this upgrade. This was a little bulky for me but I learned to love it. Battery lasted over a week even in peak training (I'm a half marathon-er). Really looking forward to trying the new Forerunners.
