Nice upgrade from the 965, especially the materials. Another excellent product.

So far so good. I like the touch screen. I had a FENIX 6 Pro before, and the Forerunner is lighter. Most of the functions are easier to access, a few are a little more difficult. I like that it has more "vocal" cues in the water than my FENIX. Screens are easier to see and customize. Con is that when it's not in a function the face is black whereas the FENIX always showed the watch face. Otherwise I'm very happy with my exchange of a FENIX for a Forerunner.

I bought this about a month ago after I broke my Apple Watch. I am really enjoying all the extra features that come on the Garmin. One of the biggest benefits is the long battery life compared to my Apple Watch. The analytics that you can run for all of your workouts are fantastic. If you’re looking for a top of the line watch for your training, this is it.

I've had the 970 for about a month and so far I'm very pleased with it. Notable improvements over my 945 are much quicker battery change time, longer lasting battery and quicker time for GPS acquisition. Also like the larger, color display. I've used it mostly for running but have also used it for hiking, golf and one bike ride just to use it since I normalIy use my Edge 830 for the bike. Haven't used it for swimming yet. Use of the watch is very similar ti the 945, minimal learning curve required to change from the 945 to the 970.

I've had a host of Garmin watches over the past 20 years: Tactic Delta, Instinct, the original wrist potato, and a multitude of others I can't remember. The Forerunner 970 is hands down the best I've owned. It is easy to use and yet altogether intuitive. It provides me with more data than I could possibly imagine.

I've owned a few vivoactives, and they are great, but the 970 is a pretty significant step up. The training readiness and sleep tracking features are awesome, and the multi-band GPS is great at quickly and accurately monitoring both my location and pace, which were the areas I was hoping to improve most. A sneaky helpful feature for me is using the Garmin coach and the watch actually visualizing the exercises that it wants me to perform. No more going off to YouTube to figure it out. Overall this is exceeding expectations.

Great watch and tracker. Setup got me flustered at first but made sense after just a bit of clicking and watching a YouTube video. Great medium price point versus the fenix. Looks sleek and great video screen on the dial.
