Garmin HRM 200 Heart Rate Monitor

The HRM-200 does not reliably monitor my heart rate. Throughout my workout it suddenly shows my heart rate dropping off to a value even below my resting heart rate at times. Sometimes it will recover other times it does not. I have tried all the troubleshooting things like wetting the chest band, using electro gel on the pads, repositioning the band in different locations. Nothing reliably works. I have previously used the HRM-DUAL and the HRM-2 for over a decade and never had issues like this. I just replaced the chest band every 9-12 months and they worked well. I tried a second HRM-200 in case the first was defective but had the same issue. Something is different in the design of the HRM-200 that does not reliably work for me.

Works great! It’s an excellent replacement for the HRM-Pro Plus. Accurate, reliable, and easy to use. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dependable heart rate monitor!

Super easy to use, data seems much more accurate than just a watch, comfortable enough to barely notice it.

The Garmin Connect app is beyond horrible, so I used the Wahoo app. The heart rate readings were extremely inaccurate. Absolute garbage.

Grest ptoduct. Works grest. Battery level was 80%, I expected to be 100%, since it was a brand new product.

It works well but setting it up can be confusing. Trying to understand which mode it has to be in to connect to my computer was a struggle to begin with but eventually I figured it out and it works good.

Purchased to replace older Garmin monitors, this is the third one I've purchased in over 20 years of riding. I do like the ease of removing the unit to replace the battery compared to the last model which required removing the 4 screws with a very small screwdriver. First time I used it, it seemed to be wildly inaccurate near the end of my ride, maybe 45 minutes in. There was a vast difference between the heart rate on my Garmin watch and the HRM200. Given the effort I was at, the watch was definitely the one to believe. I decided to replace the battery which seemed to work for a few months, but now it is back to the same inaccuracy with a large margin between the watch and the HRM200.

They just have the best products ! Durable and reliable !
