I've been using this product almost since it came out. I've used the SOS once as my boat was coming apart with high winds and ten foot seas, the response was immediate the conditions were too rough boat us and 60 miles off shore. When it first came out I had friends give me weather reports but the new version I can get weather anywhere in the world right now with 3 day forecast. The screen is still to small for me to read without glasses but in the beginning I had to find a really dark spot to read the screen. Now when it's paired with my tablet all things are good except set up. I still need to figure out sending out pictures but looks like it will be easy.

Took it to Alaska for a 10 day hunt and it worked great. I was able to send and receive messages via the app, get weather reports and best of all only had to recharge the battery once for the entire trip.

Safe Feeling

Bought this for a backpacking trip to West Virginia. The intent was to make my wife feel that I was safe and that I could communicate with her. It did that. However, there was a lot of time where it would not connect, saying I had to get to an open area. At times, that might be miles or very difficult to do. I just expected more although I understand the limitations.

Tuffff to navigate around the unit.

Really having a hard time navigating the unit itself!! Instructions unclear and unhelpful! I have been trying to learn how to use it, but for some reason I can’t seem to find an easy way to get the app to work with it mini.
