Batteries started expanding a year after purchase

I have used 2nd gen and 3rd gen batteries for my various GoPros. My 2nd gen batteries work fine still, years after use. My 3rd gen failed within a 12-18 months after purchase.

I purchased a new GoPro Hero 9 that came with 2 batteries. I've used it probably 20 times alternating the batteries as they normally only last about 45 minutes. Yesterday, I ran out of battery power and started to remove the battery and the blue end cap broke off while pulling the tab. I had to use a thread ripper to pry it out of the camera as it wouldn't budge trying to use tape and some other methods to extract it from the battery compartment. I'm totally in shock because this is a genuine GoPro battery so I expected rock solid quality. Very disappointing.

    Hero 9 Black Battery life

Just bought my first GoPro Hero 9 Black. Within 5 mins of being turned on after a full charge battery is already down to 90%. Didn’t even started recording or take pics yet. And while making a 30min video GoPro got real hot and battery was at 10% life. Hopefully there’s a new improvement on future batteries to keep the GoPro worthy.

Manny, No video camera on the market is as unobtrusive due to its small size and yet provides such amazing visual acuity. This is the result of a new processor. The counter to that power is it takes a lot of battery life. Shoot quick before it’s done

The reviews specifically state longer battery life. Well, that’s not the case for these new batteries. Turning on the camera alone eats up 1 to 2 percentages of the battery! My hero 5’s battery would last me way more than this new battery type. I guess it’s a good thing I bought an extra battery because I know for a fact one of these won’t last long. So much for making us believe these were an upgrade so make sure you shoot quick because the battery will be done before you know it.

Jesus, Thanks for the feedback. We believe in HERO10. No video camera on the market is as unobtrusive due to its small size and yet provides such amazing visual acuity. This is the result of a new processor. The counter to that power is it takes a lot of battery life. Battery life varies under different conditions, and high heat is one of them. We rate our standard battery to last about an hour in optimum conditions, and we rate Enduro to last about 40 percent longer than the standard battery. However, in high heat under direct sun with little airflow, these are conditions that can have an impact on battery life. The standard battery is compatible with the Enduro dual battery charger, and the Enduro can be charged in the standard battery charger. https://gopro.com/en/us/shop/mounts-accessories/hero10-black-dual-battery-charger-enduro-batteries/ADDBD-211-master.html Battery life varies under different conditions, and high heat is one of them. Se hinchan dentro de la càmara

Cuidado con estas baterías. Si las utilizas en grabacaciones de más de 10 minutos y la cámara se calienta, luego no las puedes sacar. Luego al enfriarse se quedan hinchadas. Muy mala calidad.

These batteries will go from 100% charge to completely DEAD in 15 seconds or less when used to for snow sports in below freezing temps. Fix your batteries GoPro!

Have only had this battery for about 6 months. Went to pull the battery out of the GoPro using the tab, and the back completely came apart. Guess they just don’t make them like they used to.
