Gregory Border Carry-On 40L Backpack

Where do I start? Gregory has been an industry powerhouse for decades, producing high quality gear that stands the test of time, and the Border Carry is no different. From the second you open the pack you can see that the material is high quality. It comes with a spot to put your apple tag and so many pockets and zippers to put small to medium sized items in. When it comes to the zippers, I put them through the wringer. I packed this bag to the max for an international trip and when it came time to zip up, the bag was extremely stretchable and the zippers were strong and able to withstand some force. For storage wise, I was able to pack an amazing amount of gear, truly pushing the limits of this pack. Last but not least, this bags comfort is premium. The back support was awesome and waist and chest straps were comfortable and helped to easily distribute weight. Fits everything we need for week+ long trips. We pack light and don't need to bring suitcase over suitcase so this is perfect.

This pack holds a lot. Its basically a carry on roller bag made into a backpack. Theres not much organization for smaller items compared to other travel bags but this isnt what this is going for. I used this to carry on all of my clothing, gear, and shoes I couldn't fit in my carry on roller bag. I found that I needed a few more outside compartments for smaller items. If you need anything from the inside, youre kind of forced to open the entire pack to get the item packed away. This takes up a lot of room - which in a busy airport the floor is mostly the best option due to its design. I like it for what its designed for but will probably need a different t pack for when I dont need to haul as much stuff or for when I need to access items often out of the pack.

This bag is top notch! I have had this bag now for about a month, I have had the opportunity to travel with it 3 times. I did 2 long weekend trips and this bag is perfect for that. It was my only bag for both of those trips, it easily and in an organized fashion fit all my cloths for a long trip where we attended a wedding and hiking and this was perfect for me! It has multiple separate areas for cloths, a large pocket for laptops and tablets, as well as external pockets which works great for things you want easy access too! My wife and I shared this bag for a long weekend trip to the lake where we had less clothing and we were both able to share it just fine! And lastly I used this as a carry on for an international trip and it worked great for having an extra set of cloths and all our other carry in needs we didn’t want to check. If I had to come up with one negative about this bag, is it’s quite large, it fit great on my back very comfortably, but not so on my wife’s slight frame.

Materials are light and feel durable. It does pick up some dog hair but I’ve been able to easily brush it off. Hair sticks more so to the rubberized handles. The handles are great for a quick grab and they help the bag keep its shape. The air mesh is great against the back. I like that the waist belt is fully removable I do not find them necessary in bags this size. The interior is nicely organized without being overly so. I also like the light colored interior. YKK zips throughout. The external waterborne holder is tight elastic mesh and will hold at least a 24oz bottle. The only thing dangling on the outside is the shoulder straps. Keepers would have been nice. This is a little larger than my typical carry on. I could easily one bag with it for two weeks.

I’ve been able to use it 3-4 times in the past month or so. It has plenty of room for me to pack my stuff for a decently long trip, and it’s been perfect for my wife and I for a short weekend trip to fit all of our clothes and toiletries in. I love the two large pockets for clothes and the three small mesh pockets for random stuff. The only thing is that I wish the laptop sleeve was larger to fit my large work laptop. However, it can still fit in the large back pocket. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good size pack that can accommodate any sort of travel. Gregory gave me this free product to try.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great bag for shorter travel. I was able to get a lot of clothing, a pair of running shoes, laptop and more into the bag comfortably. I thought the bag was comfortable to wear in transit but would have liked if there were load lifters on the straps but not a deal breaker. I think this bag is for any traveler who doesn’t like checking a bag for a short trip.
