Gregory Kiro 24 Day Pack

Overall a nice pack. Very comfortable on a 14 mile hike I recently did. Love the stretch waistband! I wish it had waist band pouches and another side water bottle compatible pocket.

After day hiking in the alps for 2 weeks with this bag I would say overall it is worth the price and works well. However there are some things that need to be addressed. 1. The waist strap should be removable as it’s quite large and keeps you from using the bag for other things 2. The waist strap loosens up every time you undue it so you have to re adjust constantly. 3. The little plastic pieces that hold the excess waist strap dig into you after hiking for awhile. 4. The trekking pole attachments are annoying to use. Other than that great day pack. With those couple adjustments I’d definitely buy an updated model!

Great in every way except the crazy large heavy hipbelt. It's ok if you're using it, but oftentimes you don't need it, and it's not removeable, so it's this big bulky thing in your back. It's unfortunate because otherwise perfect for me.

Gregory gave me this free product to try. Update: It has now been over 2 months since I started using this pack. There was only one time that this didn’t go with me only because it was too small for what I needed to carry. I’ve uncovered 1 issue which is really minor but I should note: the hanger for hydration does not work with my Osprey bladders. I still love everything else about the pack and will continue to use it as my primary day pack. When it first arrived, I wasn't sure if the right item was shipped, it didn't seem like a backpack could be in the package. I was immediately impressed with the weight and features of this pack. The features that stand out the most for me are the front entry stretch pocket on the left side for carrying a water bottle. It is easy to access on the go. On the right side is a forward facing zippered pocket for storing snacks or other smaller items. I had my microspikes in the this pocket on my last hike and had no issues with a gloved hand unzipping and retrieving them without taking off the pack. The third feature I'll highlight are the gear loops. I am out on the trails year around and the ability to strap snowshoes to my bag is a requirement. The gear loops along with a couple accessory straps provided a robust carry system and still allowed access to the main compartment and small top pocket. What would I change about this pack? It would be nice if the zippered side pocket had a little more volume or stretch. I carry a lot of gear and that results in a tight fit. Another suggestion would be including straps to connect to the gear loops or carrying items such as snowshoes, crampons, helmet,... This was my first experience with a Gregory and I will definitely be using this pack a lot and will give the rest of the lineup a serious look in the future.

I have been using this pack for a couple months now and have been loving it!! I wont buy a day pack without a waist strap and this one is SO comfortable! It fits great with my water bladder and is the perfect size for a long day of hiking. Plenty of pockets and spots for all the gear. Pumped to hit some of Colorados 14ers with this pack this summer!! #giftedproduct

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think a day pack is one of the most important parts of every hikers kit (if not the most important). Gregory sent this to me for free to try and I was excited to see how it performed. The good: This pack uses an elastic harness (2" stretchy webbing for the wast and 0.5" stretchy webbing for the chest strap) which I have never seen before. It provides an extremely comfortable carry with lighter loads (if the pack fits your torso well). I also enjoyed the streamline silhouette of the pack. The meh: I have smaller (18.5") torso and this pack didn't fit my body as well as others. It was both too big (big ole gaps behind my shoulders) and too small (the pack rode low on my back). The opening of the pack doesn't expand as well as I had hoped and it's tough to put a ton of stuff in this; you always have to leave a bit of room at the top because the smaller organizational pocket needs a home too. I also worry the elastic webbing might not be as durable as a non-elastic analog but I trust in Gregory's warranty! Overall, this is a very interesting pack and I enjoyed taking it on hikes from short laps around the neighborhood hill to full day excursions. The elastic was very comfortable and the pack carried well, as long as you don't over-pack it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I noticed about the Gregory Kiro is it's solid build quality. While I was only tested for a month, I expect it to last for many years. Useful features include the gear loops, side accessory, pocket, and shoulder strap loops. I was able to easily attach two poles on one gear loop. On my first day, I loaded it up with 18 pounds and took it on a training hike climbing 2k' in a little over a mile. The hydration compartment and hanger were solid. The fit was good and the mesh backing never felt saturated despite my heavy sweating. The shoulder straps were comfortable but the Cloudcontrol hipbelt was disappointing. The belt's selling point is that is supposed to be flexible and comfortable. This contradicts the main function of the hipbelt which is to bear the load weight and relieve pressure on the shoulder straps. For light loads, I'm sure it's fine, but if you carry any actual weight the belt sags and weight is transferred to the shoulder straps. I used the pack on at least 10 hikes and had the same results. The weight of the pack was neither too heavy or too light. Overall, it's a solid pack I'd recommend for lightweight adventures or training. Gregory gave me this free product to try.

While I don't typically wear the pack during coaching, it has been perfect for carrying my gear to and from the field. Its lightweight and streamlined design also makes it ideal for active use, including running and quick hikes. The fit of the Kiro 24L is excellent-snug and well-balanced, adjusting comfortably to my back shape without shifting around during movement. The suspension system is a standout feature; the CloudControl hip belt provides soft yet stable support, flexing naturally with my body movements, making it easy to forget I'm even wearing it. Access points are intuitively placed, allowing quick retrieval of gear. The main compartment offers ample space with straightforward entry, and the front stretch mesh pocket is perfect for items I need readily accessible, such as snacks, gloves, or a whistle. The pocket design is mostly excellent, with thoughtfully sized compartments. However, the side water bottle pocket is notably oversized. It securely holds larger bottles like Nalgenes without issue, but I've noticed slimmer, smaller bottles tend to slip out easily, particularly when bending over. Durability has been impressive thus far; the material shows no signs of wear despite regular use in various conditions, from soccer fields to trails. At a lightweight design, it doesn't sacrifice comfort for weight savings, striking an ideal balance. Comfort features, including padded straps and ventilated back paneling, ensure the pack remains comfortable even during extended wear. I've worn it comfortably while running and moving actively without any irritation or discomfort. I highly recommend the Kiro 24L Pack to anyone looking for a versatile, comfortable, and durable pack that's suitable for both daily tasks and active outdoor adventures. Coaches, hikers, runners, and commuters alike would greatly benefit from this pack, with the minor consideration of careful water bottle selection for the side pocket.
