This is THE hiking daypack

When it came time to find a pack specifically for day hikes rather than backpacking trips, travel, or EDC, I read reviews and tried out four or five different bags. At the end of it all, the Zulu 28 LT stood WAY above the rest. For a light pack, the comfort is insane. I'd take it on long hikes and sometimes simply remove the hip belt because the shoulder straps felt so good. And lordy, that VaporSpan back panel is no joke. To actually feel the breeze blowing onto your back while wearing a pack is something I've never experienced. To get that "separation," the pack is more curved than the average one, but it's well worth it. Awesome aesthetics and material as well. So stoked on this pack.

Very solid pack for day hikes - using it on the NH 4k footers after my climbing bags fell short. The ventilation system is great for this sweaty guy (seriously, I'm one of those who blink too hard and start sweating) with great pockets for water bottles (straps to hold are a nice touch) and easy gear access. The brain is also well positioned and easy to access. It would be nice to have a deuter style sunglasses holder, but that's my only real quibble. Lots of attachment points as well. Only thing to watch is that it's less adjustable torso-wise vs. some other bags I've had, so make sure you nail the size.
