The Trail Crampon is easy to put on/take off, has a nice leash to keep the crampons on, has excellent traction, and works well on ice and snow. Hillsound has been very responsive to questions and issues. I'm very pleased with all my interactions with Hillsound and the Trail Crampon.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

    Durable, more traction than microspikes!

Have worn these for many years and they continue to fill a void between full crampons and microspikes - which for a 6'1" 200+ plus hiker with a full pack means better traction on less than perfect trails. As the market continues to go lighter and lighter - they have a durability and ruggedness that will last many seasons of hard use. New Hamphire SAR member approved. Only improvement would be a snow guard to release built up snow on days with sticky underfoot conditions.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I've been hiking with these for two years now on everything from compacted snow to ice-covered slabs. Traction is excellent, much better than my Kahtoolas, and snow doesn't ball up as much on the bottom either.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

I bought these for my husband for his birthday. He bought me a pair over 15 years ago and they are still going strong!! I love the grip on the snowy icy trails ! My pair have been all over the country so far,and his pair is already planned to finish the winter Catskill hikes ! Their durability is amazing !

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second pair of hillsound trail crampons. I was gifted my first pair over 10 years ago! I only recently noticed this past winter that the spikes were finally starting dull, as I was noticing a little more slippage. I was thrilled to purchase a second pair and Can’t wait for this years first snow fall to break them out! I also plan to keep my old pair as backups for when it’s a little more ice/rock and I want to keep my new ones fresh and sharp. I can walk up sheer ice over rocks on an incline with full confidence in their ability to keep me on my feet. I hike all the time, year round, and 10/10 recommend adding these to your hiking gear collection. Just have! The quality is unreal. My

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Worked great so far on my first trip in pretty mixed conditions. 10-20 degree slope, pockets of powder and patches of ice, and some slushy sno-cat tracks to start. A few feet on gravel/rocks. A little ice ball buildup in them in one point, but never lost traction. They're probably exactly what I need.. mixed steep snow/ice but not technical mountaineering.

    Yes, I recommend this product.
