[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I typically wear size 9. 5 but had read reviews that suggested these boots run small so I ordered a pair in 9. 5 and 10. The 9. 5 size was a tight fit with the socks I would expect to wear (Teramar sock liners and Darn Tough Hunter wool) in conditions where I would need these boots. After wearing both around the house and on the treadmill, including mixing and matching the sizes, I decided to keep the 10. Even with two socks, my feet slide just a little bit, barely perceptible, in the size 10 but I thought this was preferable to a tight fit. This has not been a problem, even after an 8 mile hike in the Taconic Crest Range and the Adirondacks. No problem with the return of the 9. 5 and Keen promptly refunded my money. Have worn these boots several times over the past few weeks in temperatures ranging from mid-teens to mid-20’s and for 2-6 hours at a time. Feet have been comfortable in these temperatures. That being said, I am usually active and moving except for short rest periods. Not sitting around a campsite or ice fishing. Conditions including dry but frozen ground, packed snow and up to 2 feet of fresh snow. Traction is good, even on flat icy sidewalk and roads and frozen dirt/rocky trails and packed snow. I have noticed that snow tended to accumulate in the tread under the heel, but not under the forefoot. This may have something to do with the condition of the snow, or the fact that the heel is more rigid. It did not seem to affect comfort or traction. They worked well attached to Altai Hawk skis and Tubbs Wilderness snowshoes. Am able to attach Trazon Microspikes but have not had the conditions to hike with them yet. The microspikes seem to fit securely in the treads so I expect they will work well. They have been totally waterproof, as I would expect from Keen. Overall, I am very satisfied with the boots and the buying experience from Keen.

Amazing fit!

My husband was so pleased with his boots that I gifted him for Christmas. He flies charter helicopters here in AK, so the warmth and durability of the boot really drew him to this pair. He can’t wait to test them out!

Warm and comfortable right out

Warm and comfortable right out of the box. I went with the size recommendation from keen and the fit is perfect with thick socks.

Great boot but left boot uncomfortable/pinching at ankle/tongue area

Tried to break these in short snow trail hikes. Left boot is uncomfortable at ankle/tongue region causing pinching pain on inside left shin. I even tried wearing very ultra thick socks but it did not alleviate the discomfort.
