Keen Women's Hightrail Mid Waterproof Hiking Shoes

I need a lightweight walking/hiking shoe that supports my ankles and this is it. I rarely hike out-of-town but I do walk daily from home in an area with few sidewalks and variable terrain. This means (occasionally) level sidewalk and broken pavement, loose gravel, up and down wet swales, wooded paths and fallen branches, and other general obstacles. This shoe has sufficient cushioning to protect my feet but still maintains a good feel for the ground so I can maintain stability. The light weight means I can do an easy jog in some areas. I chose Keen because I've been using their work shoes for several years and I swear by their all-day comfort and durability. I'm 5'7", average weight, with a 9-1/2 foot/narrow-ish width. My feet are slightly different lengths. I ordered a 9-1/2 which fits one foot exactly and the wide toe box means that my other (slightly) larger foot is accommodated and comfortable. I've worn these all day and at no time have my feet felt cramped or uncomfortable. There's also a snug heel cup which means my socks aren't pulling down while walking. I'm very satisfied with these shoes: the fit is what I expected, and their performance is exactly what I need for walking where I live.

I wore them for three weeks hiking throughout Europe and they were amazing. My feet were super comfy and never had any issues. I can't recommend them more.
