Cozy Coastal Camping Bag

My Marmot Trestles Elite 30° sleeping bag kept me warm and cozy on our chilly camping trip to the coast and I love that it’s made from recycled materials—it’s good for the planet and super comfy too! Easy to pack, soft, and durable. My husband even wants one now!

Sleeping Bag

I found this sleeping bag difficult to zip up while lying in it, and the zipper caught on the fabric quite a bit. It’s very slippery fabric and I was sleeping on angled ground (don’t recommend sleeping on angled ground), so I often slid right off the thin exercise mat that the sleeping bag was on. As for the warmth factor: I used it in +5 degree Celsius nights and was warm enough. I was also dressed warmly (sweats, bunny hug, warm socks, another sweater, mitts, toque). It is nice being able to cinch the whole sleeping bag face hole closed (enough room left to expose nose and mouth to air) when the night air felt colder. I think I would be warm enough in -1 degree nights if I was on a pad of sorts to block the cold ground. Whenever I slid off the exercise mat, I woke up because I could feel the cold ground under me, so I advise using a pad or mattress of sorts for best results! The sleeping bag is super easy to roll into the provided bag (not the stuff sack) and is super light to carry! I bought the 6’ sleeping bag and am 5’ 9”. I am glad I bought the men’s version due to the extra length. Warmth wise- I do recommend this for summer sleeping.
