McDavid Phantom Ankle Brace

The ankle brace fit well, with decent support while recovering from an ankle injury

I bought this brace for volleyball and it has stopped me from rolling my ankle which I am prone to 😐

I have worn various ankle- braces and/or air-casts due an ankle fracture, before deciding to buy this McDavid Phantom Ankle Brace. It is a good product, but IMHO it should be rated Level 2 protection, rather than Level 3, as stated. If more elastic materials were used, this would easily be a Level 3 brace. This design makes this brace GREAT for an EDC IFA /car kit. McDavid's open-heel, step-into brace design, is superior to a lace-up ankle brace, if you have: alot of swelling or, an acute injury, that is too painful to move, when trying to slip-on a lace-up style ankle brace. However, the Phantom does not beat the old ASO, lace-up, elastic stirrup-strap, ankle wrap brace design in terms of stabilization. Phantom brace sizing is wonky: If you wear Size 8 Men's shoe, the size chart says you can wear either XS/S or M/L. I recommend trying this brace on before buying it. Even though I tried-on the M/L, I found the M/L to not be sung enough on my bare foot, and somewhat less so, even though I wore a sock on that foot. When trying them on, I thought the XS/S size would have less material around my ankle to brace/support it vs. the M/L, so I chose the M/L. IMHO some design improvements are needed: 1. Make the ankle-wrap strap and stirrup straps ELASTIC. Very little elastic material is used, (stirrup straps are NOT elastic at all) preventing the wearer from maximizing / adjusting a snug, stablizing fit. 2. Use different colour materials, or sew a badge onto the ends of the micro-velcro tabs. The micro-velcro straps are thin and nearly impossible to see / feel where the end of the velcro hook strap attaches to the velcro loop material, and you need a strong fingernail to pick at the end of the micro-hook strap, to be able to pull it free from the micro-loop material.

Great for basketball! My son had recently sprained his ankle and wanted extra support as he was recovering. He used this and was happy with the support. Would recommend this for other athletes!

Excellent. Tore my Ankle really badly before a show but with these on? I could walk again as normal. Highly recommend for any actor!

Perfect for my son. Good for his ankle. It’s really ankle protected for his sports.

These are one fits both ankles. Bought 2 and one does not fit right.
