    Best camping purchase

Great cooler, performs awesome. Same as a yeti cooler without the hefty price tag. Hold ice very well bags of ice last easily 3-4 days in the hot weather. Like that I can strap it to my roof rack, and the divider and basket is a nice add on.

    Yes, I recommend this product.

Very well made good as an 800 dollar yeti

Very well made product ! I was always procrastinating about buying a cooler this style because they are usually way out of budget and ridiculously priced 450-800$ screw that. I've kept an ice block in there for 2 days now minimal or normal shrinkage as it's very hot out ATM and wouldn't expect even an 800 dollar cooler to keep ice in this temperature. The hinges latches and everything about it is very well made and will recommend to anyone and super stoked for camping this year !

    Good

I usually save my reviews for bad products, but this one is actually good. I put three bags of cubed ice in it on a Wednesday afternoon preparing for a solo trip up north. After leaving the cooler in the truck during 28 C weather in the sun and adding wild game each day, as well as being in and out of it at leave five to six times a day, I bought two more bags of ice out of caution and not wanting to waste the meat I had harvested. If I had kept the cooler in the shade instead of in the insanely hot truck for the first 36 hours, that ice would have lasted for the entire trip. A total of 96 hours even after adding warm game meat and grabbing drinks and making three meals a day in very hot conditions. I am glad I finally purchased a decent cooler and it was on sale at half the price of say a Yeti. Definately worth $215 Canadian after tax if it lasts for a decade. My only complaint is that it's a little small and that the closing mechanism could be made with a more solid material considering they are likely to get caught on stuff moving it around and look like they would crack fairly easily if mistreated. Happy trails.

Mediocre design - too heavy & awkward to carry

Returned this cooler because the handles made it way too wide to comfortably carry - the handles only fold out to sit at a 90° angle, so could only be carried by two people or someone with an extremely wide wingspan. It was quite heavy while empty, so it seemed like a recipe for throwing out our backs. But the inner gasket on the lid seemed very promising!

No, I do not recommend this product.

    Leaky Drain Valve

We bought this cooler for summer camping. It keeps drinks  nice and cold. Unfortunately, the drain valve leaks, so it’s hard to keep the ice/water from leaking out the bottom of the cooler. We contacted Atmosphere for warranty assistance, but they declined to help, even though McKinley is one of their house brands.

No, I do not recommend this product.
