I hike almost daily on relatively steep trails and replace my Merrill Moab 3 hiking shoes annually. The new online purchased pairs consistently fit and feel well from the first time laced up. The Merrill Moab 3 hiking shoes protect well against ankle sprain on rough terrain trail sections and slippage on steep trail sections with loose gravel (when tread is not worn out).

I bought a pair of MOAB 3 hiking shoes in March of this year, and I have to tell you about them. I'm a novice hiker and bought the shoes for a hiking trip to Utah's Big 5 National Parks. I hiked about 5-10 miles every day for 10 days, and these shoes' performance was outstanding. I expected my feet to be sore and potentially a little blistered, but that was not the case. They felt great after each day.
The shoes are a little heavy, but I got used to the feel pretty quickly. Combined with a pair of wool hiking socks, their performance was excellent.\
I'm not sure I will ever take on a more challenging 10 days; these shoes performance right out of the box was amazing.

Can you read the shoe size on this shoe?

I wear a 9.5 in Merrells, turned out I received a size 9.5W. But they still fit fine for some stupid reason. I don't by any means have a wide foot. I probably would have noticed it sooner had Merrell been capable of actually printing the shoe size on the shoe big enough that a human being could easily read it in normal lighting without the assistance of a microscope.
They don't appear to be, but they look and feel like a full-sized hiking boot. Which is not what I was wanting.

Moab 3 Simply the best fitting shoes made with high quality materials. Lots of support from a perfectly designed arch and a heel cup that grabs the foot and gives perfect support. I can't say enough about them I love Merrill and the shoes they make.

Not the quality I expected and the fit was wide enough it the toe box was high Nd not well contoured like other brands like KEEN shoe of similar build.
