The Moab 3 is my preferred hiking & casual shoe, and I have many, but the price has gone through the roof! The shoe sale prices for wide sizes are non-existent. If you need replacement laces, you'll find that Merrell has let us down by only stocking a very limited few! Looks like I must look for alternative suppliers!

Everyday essential

I have owned 3 pairs now over the years. I love them. We own a farm in the mountains and I'm walking trails most of the day. They hold up to everyday wear and hard terrain.

Just bought my second pair after having my first pair for 8 years! I live in Maine and they were not treated lightly and always cleaned them with mink oil before the fall. My original pair is still waterproof and in very good condition, but the treads are worn. Highly recommend!!!

Great styles and features.

Purchased my Moab 3s (2 pair) about 1 month ago. Merrell's are my 'go to' active footwear. They are simply ideal for walks in nature, which my wife and I enjoy daily. I currently own so many pairs of these wonderful shoes in a myriad of Merrell styles (approx. 35 and counting) that I am out of superlatives. I simply love the simplicity of getting what you pay for in advance of your purchase.

Rock-solid stability, but "out-of-the-box comfort"

The new Moab 3 shoes are significantly harder/stiffer and doI bought these to replace an old pair of Moabs from 2016. I needed a shoe with a sure-footed feel that would stop my ankles from rolling, which these absolutely do. The outer shell and ankle support are fantastic and keep you perfectly upright and stable. However, the website claims these have "out-of-the-box comfort," and that is definitely not what I felt. If you are expecting that classic, soft "couch-cushion" feel of the older generations, be warned: the Moab 3 is structurally much harder and more rigid. Just after a little bit of time walking around on the floor, they were already uncomfortable and hurting my heels. The factory foam offers very little give on hard surfaces. I ended up swapping out the stock inserts for cushioned aftermarket insoles to bring back that plush comfort. It is a great platform for ankle safety, but the sole is definitely stiffer than it used to be. not provide the "out of the box" comfort I had in the past with my previous Moab shoes.
