Excellent, almost perfect

I’ve run through a lot of low hiking boots from a variety of brands..some a lot more expensive than these. None of them measure up to the Moab 3. They do the job of a tough hiking boot without sacrificing comfort. And the wide option is something that you don’t see in other brands. The one issue…I’m not sure what constitutes “waterproof” in boots like these but my feet were wet. I didn’t do a full submersion or anything like that, but with a moderately heavy rain and some contact along a rivers’ edge, the toe box got wet inside the shoe….but it wasn’t enough to prevent me from buying a second pair today in a different color.

I've only been wearing Merrill Moab 3 waterproof shoes for I don't know how many years. These are my everyday shoes, from hiking mountains to cutting the lawn, to walking around the block.

Great shoes - sizes run small

This is my fourth pair of Moab 3 boots. The most recent pair were (by accident) the non-waterproof version but have served me well. They were 11.5W so as there was no local stock I placed an online order for that size. They turned out to be a little tight. A local Sport Chek showed inventory of the 12W shoes but alas their inventory reporting was not accurate so they arranged to ship me the shoes. These too were still tight. I ended up at another Sport Chek getting the 13W shoes which may require some thicker socks. Great boots, you may require a larger size than you are accustomed to.

Fits smaller than Moab Vent.

Decent, but fit noticeably smaller than the Moab 3 Vent counterpart.
8 Wide fits well in the Vent version, and 8.5 Wide was still too small and narrow towards the toes in the waterproof version. Also feels like there is less height in the heel on the waterproof version, which made my foot feel like it was sliding up more.
Ended up returning, but may try another size up in the future.
