Good winter hikers, just not good on ice

Love the fit, very comfortable, good size. Handles cold enough. I have one complaint. These are the slipperiest boots I have worn ever. Worse than cowboy boots. And I've had many boots over the years. Lousy on any ice. Is there a version that is good on ice?

Good hiker but not for winter

I thought these boots fit very nicely, everything was snug when I tried them on and felt like they would be very supportive. However, when I wore them outdoors where I walk 15 minutes to a bus stop and wait 15 minutes between transfers, I found that they weren't very comfy after walking and they aren't very warm at all. My feet were quite cold on a -15 day and actually made my feet quite sore as the fabric in the tongue folds in ways that puts pressure points on my feet. I thought I would love these but they're not cut out for Canadian winters as advertised.

This boots are really nice! the size is perfect and also the weight is light. Merrell is a good brand on wide size and this one is not the exception. Great fit, waterproof and nice warm for winter.

Perfect boots

I had purchased these boots as they were deemed waterproof because we were going for a trip to Iceland and were planning for some big winter hikes into the mountains. There were on sale and seemed to look like they were a solidly built boot that could handle some rough terrain and still provide the warmth, traction and waterproofing that I would need. These boots did all of that and exceeded my expectations in also providing great comfort. We did many 5-8km hikes into the mountains crossing snow, ice, fallen rocks and streams and I was concerned that I had not broke them in enough prior to leaving with only putting a few kilometres on them but they were perfect. Will definitely be looking into another pair for warm weather hiking as well

Wide width

Purchased this month, the thing is really like is the wide width for reasons unknown to me all shoes seem to think, we should wear narrow shoes. The wide width also good for heavy weight socks which I prefer in the colder weather.
