OK Tread, Terrible Support

I waited to review these sandals to give them an honest second try on a recent fall camping trip.
The initial reason I purchased these sandals was a (hopeful) alternative to a traditional water shoe for back country camping, canoeing & hiking. Similar to a few other reviews, it is very difficult to get the sandal tight enough and even worse, the straps easily loosen when they are wet.
On longer portages, it was handy to have something I could easily come in and out of the water with, but became a massive hazard while carrying anything as my feet slid around constantly on the sole of the sandal.
The reason for 2 stars instead of 1 is because the tread is pretty decent. When the sandal wasn't wet (and my feet not sliding around), they handled a full day of hiking well - even on wet rocks. A nice substitute for my hiking boots in the summer, but unfortunately turns to not-so-great if the entire sandal gets wet as the straps don't stay tight to provide support.
I'll need to stay on the hunt for another solution, but overall - would not recommend if you are planning on using these for both in-water and out-of-water in the same go. Even at the sale price. BUT if you're using them just to cruise around and stay mostly dry - they're definitely ok.

They’re quite comfortable. The only issue is that the main front strap loosens every 5 minutes or so and you have to keep tightening it which defeats the purpose of walking sandals. I’m going to sew on Velcro and hope for the best.
