The Moab Speed 2 Mid GTX is the latest innovation in hiking from the Merrell brand pairing the knowledge and trail insights from the best-selling hiking boot, the Merrell Moab, with the latest innovations from athletic hikers across the globe. Improved traction with the incorporation of Vibram TC5+ rubber, specially formulated for Merrell, with the an all-new design and traction lugs. Hikers know that comfort is king and the all-new Moab Speed with 30% increase in foam underfoot. Breathability also significantly improved incorporating learnings from Merrell's best selling Merrell Test Lab trail running lineup. Underfoot you will find a secure fit heel counter and a full length rock plate to keep you confident on the trail in any conditions. This version also incorporate GORE-TEX, the most trusted name in waterproofing to keep your feet dry in inclement weather.

Ankle support light weight - Winners

I’ve been looking for a walking boot to get around on our bush block. My ankles are unreliable at times so was looking for lightweight with ankle support. I love these boots. They are supportive and compared to my work boots I feel like I’m walking on a cloud. I feel confident to take on any unstable ground or rocks. Stoked with the boots. Thanks Merrell

Great lightweight hiking shoe for travel

Very pleased with my first Merrill shoe. Purchased for a trip to Africa with two days of easy hiking and remainder of trip on Safari (mostly seated in vehicles). Trip included walking thru airports and a German city on a 11 hour stopover. I had no foot pain, blistering or discomfort throughout trip. Loved the light weight of shoe! I have a narrow foot, but read that shoe is a little wider and given cold weather sock layers and travel swelling, I took a chance based on some happy reviews. Note I found the shoe on sale and after using reward points, it was a low risk investment that paid off for me. I wear a size 8.5 and bought a half size up, size 9. Back at home, I’ve walked 3-5 miles a day and find the fit is too big/wide for me in thinner socks, so I’ll reserve these for colder days (thick socks) and travel. I would order another pair in my true size based on reasons stated for sizing up. Happy Hiking!

Comfort, support and safety.

Highly recommended for the comfort and support the Moab Speed 2 Mid GORE-TEX provided. We wore it for long moderate to challenging hikes (for instance, those historic pilgrim paths). Even after long hours of wear, the feet do not feel sore, certainly not hurt. It’s not exactly water proof, but at least offers same level of comfort and support after air-dry from a complete soak episode.

Moab Speed 2 Mid Gore-Tex

I have been wearing various Merrill shoes (Coldpax in the Winter & Jungle Mocs the rest of the year) for several yrs. I keep buying them because the fit, quality & look has always been the same: hands down excellent. I expected the Moab 2 Mid Gore-Tex to be the same, & it is. If I could have only 1 Winter boot, a boot I could use for running errands &/or walking my Westies, then this Moab would be the one I'd keep (although I REALLY like my 2 pairs of Coldpax!!!).

Merrell Moab Magic!

I was accompanying my partner on their search for shoes. I tried on a pair of Moab Speed 2 for interest and I'm so glad I did! We're just starting our walking/hiking journey so we were both apprehensive about spending this amount on shoes. However, we gave them a good try out under all sorts of conditions - rain, slippery surfaces, sand, gravel - and they were excellent. Comfortable on first wear and a major bonus for us, they are one of the styles that are Vegan. Extremely happy with this purchase and looking forward to many more walks!
