Bicycle for granddaughter, picked up bike in box and insisted on putting it together myself. Good quality bike. Very few adjustments required.

Way too heavy for new riders

Well, my review might not be totally based on the bike alone, because the Sport Chek bike techs did not set it up right at first -- the fork was super loose, and my kid would turn the handle bars one way, but tire wouldn't follow. So she lost a ton of confidence after she fell. But I brought it back and got it done properly, and she was still struggling with this bike (she learned how to ride on a 16", upgraded because the 16 was too small). Ultimately, this bike is super heavy, and hard for a small child who is not already fairly confident to hold. I know kids bikes are generally heavy, but this bike is heavier than my adult bike that's twice the size. I ended up getting her a used bike that was lighter (for $20!) and that very day she was riding. Hopefully in a few years she can use this bike, but pretty disappointed in the $250+ spent on this.
