A great workhorse of a shoe

The NB 1080 has always been a solid running shoe. While not as snappy and fast feeling as some of the new shoes with rocker panels and carbon inserts, the 1080 is perfect for those long hours of pounding the pavement as Spring training begins. The 1080 still features a long padded tongue which I find more comfortable and practical than the short tongues on many contemporary shoes that tend to creep down. And, also bucking the trend in newer shoes, the 1080 has a good thick coating of rubber on the sole, making it a high mileage shoe. Runs true to size for NB. Overall, this is a bargain priced daily trainer that gets the job done. You won’t want to race in it, but you will appreciate having these on your feet as the weekly miles ramp up.

Great mid distance shoes. Lots of cushion so your feet dont tire out. Good for normal and even mild pronators. Wide toe space is also nice. Would buy again.

I've been a fan of NB for many, many years, to the exclusion of all others. The reviews of the 1080v11 were stellar so I bought a pair. Wore them once, felt good. 2nd time, I pulled on the tongue to get them on & it ripped. Thinking it was missed QC manufacturing error, I returned them & ordered another pair. Arrived by courier promptly, but the shoes had the same defect! Didn't even put them on, returned them to the store & bought a pair of asics as I had a1/2 marathon scheduled in about a week. Sadly, I'll have to look closer at NB manufacturing next time I'm looking for new running shoes.
