New Balance Men's Fresh Foam X 1080 v12 Lightweight Mesh Running Shoes

These shoes were an instant favorite. Right out of the box they were super comfy. I’m a 6’4, 300 pound man, and these make me feel like a delicate little ballerina twirling atop the clouds. No joke. They are provide a bit more support than Ultraboosts which is a win. These will be my new travel shoes when I know I’ll be doing lots of walking. No running. Just lots of walking. You don’t get to be 300+ pounds by running.

It's been a while since I've worn New Balance shoes, and now I have to question why that was. As soon as I saw these shoes, I was obsessed. Once I bought them and started wearing them, the obsession has not faded in the least! First, while a running shoe should not be judged on looks, this shoe is incredibly handsome. So very handsome. the colour is between black and gray and gray-green in tone, depending on the light you're in. The tan outsole is a nice accent. Really a good-looking shoe -- finally a runner you can wear in public without looking like a middle-aged dad on his vacation to the big city. These are sleek. Second, the fit and comfort level is off the charts. If you want a barefoot feel, this isn't your shoe. If you do, however, want cushioned, soft shoes on your feet, try these on. The foam is soft and returns energy with each stride. This can be a walking shoe, distance run shoe, or a middle-distance shoe, with ease. Fit is generous -- the D width features a lot of space, so don't go wider unless you've tried a pair on. Length is as expected -- I can vary between a 9.5 and a 10 in other running shoes, but the 9.5 fits perfectly in these. New Balance says they designed this version of the 1080 v12 with the "stay at home" work culture in mind. All I can say is this shoe makes me want to go out and explore the world, not stay home. Even at full price, these shoes are worth every penny!
